There are a few modern-day tankies now, but just a few. They're extremely unpopular with the mainstream left. "Traitors" is a word that's often used.

The OP mentioned Noam Chomskey. Yep, he's a tankie. While not strictly a leftist, he's close enough.

I'd say Glenn Greenwald is the current leader of the tankies. Glenn started out with good intentions, pointing out that the US went into Iraq for bogus reasons. But from that point, he got stuck in "Everything the USA does is wrong!" mode, and that led him to his current America-hating fascist-excusing tankie state.

Other notable tankies include Tulsi Gabbard, Jill Stein and Ralph Nader. There are a bunch of 'em on twitter, but no big names that people would recognize.

Conservatives tend to like tankies. They share the same blame-America-first mindset.

Tell us, what party fights for the “rights” of groomers? What party wants to teach children there are multiple genders, or that you can change genders? What party thinks it’s okay to let doctors mutilate and chemically castrate children? What party thinks it’s okay for a healthy woman to kill her unborn baby at 9 months? What party supports open borders? What party thinks every American should be forced to take experimental vaccines or lose their jobs?

There are people who are Democrats who are not happy about the prog forced school system agendas. They may not be Progs though. Maybe we need to have different public-school systems. Progs and regular.
