However religion tends to say "these are our morals, stick to them", and for the conservative Christians there's a broad tendency to see sex as bad unless it's in marriage and kept out of the public eye.

A retired high school teacher that I know doesn`t accept Evolution as fact and believes that were all alone in the universe because we have God. Fortunately, he didn`t teach science but the fact that someone that stupid was allowed to teach anything is what I call a scandal.
