Is the title now given to a speech by Frederick Douglass delivered on July 5, 1852, in Corinthian Hall, Rochester, New York, addressing the Rochester Ladies' Anti-Slavery Society.[2] The speech is perhaps the most widely known of all of Frederick Douglass' writings save his autobiographies.
Considering the woeful ignorance Americans have of it's own history and the current climate, now is the perfect time for all to consume what things were actually like.
His descendants have recorded themselves giving this great speech that I believe every American should read at least once or three times in their lives...

Descendants of Frederick Douglass read his Fourth of July speech on slavery amid nationwide protests
A group of young descendants of Frederick Douglass gathered to read the abolitionist author’s famed speech “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”thehill.com
Or you can watch another set of African Americans give the speech on Roland Martin's digital show...
Or, you can just take the time and read it yourself...

What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?
The speech shows the moral outrage that powered the abolition movement and made it so threatening to Southern slave holders, but also to anyone willing to tolerate or ignore slavery.teachingamericanhistory.org
I listened to Martin group's reading last night and was just left speechless.
How did you react to any of these?
Why the hell does anybody in 2020, want to read about what was going on in 1852 ? This is what PBS liberals do. They show old civil rights footage from the 1950s & 60s, designed to get blacks all roused up (about things that don't affect THEM)
They also show historical things going back to the 19th century, trying to get us all feeling guilty about stuff from before our grandparents were born.
What they DON'T SHOW is the 16,000 well-paid employees in the Tampa VA hospital, 65% of whom are BLACK, 30% are other non-white races (many from India), 5% white females, and ZERO% white males.
You will not hear the words Affirmative Action mentioned. You will not see stories about the ruined lives of white male victims of Affirmative Action, racist discrimination, or anything to combat the "woeful ignorance" of this 56 year history/disgrace.
(1964-2020).
