I am a year and a half out of Albuquerque. Nice town. But they have a problem, with their law enforcement personnel. They are trigger happy. Since 2010 there have been somewhere around 37 officer involved shootings, 23 resulted in death. That's more than New York City, in the same time span, for a town of just over 500,000. There's something wrong with that...
The DOJ has been in Albuquerque for around a year now investigating the police department. The mayor of Albuquerque, usually a staunch ally of APD has pretty much kicked them to the curb after this latest incident. There was a good deal of history between the police and the dead man, history that should have prevented the man's death.
