What the next president faces...

That's why we need a President who has the experience to lead this country.

When McCain came back from Vietnam, he cheated repeatedly on his crippled wife, and then divorced her to marry Cindy Hensley. In the 1980's McCain lobbied for Charles Keating, the saving and loan felon who stole billions in pension money, and took numerous jet set vacations at Keating's expense. In the 1990's McCain had an affair with a lobbyist that so scared his staff, that they told her to stay away from him. His campaigns for the Senate were all financed with his wife Cindy's mob money. In 1994 Cindy McCain forged prescriptions in the names of her employees and stole drugs from her own charity. McCain's campaign this year is getting huge amounts of oil company money. His pick for vice president is under an ethics investigation and will probably be indicted on Oct 31st. McCain is 72 years old, has had cancer 5 times and is on 5 different medications. He is so out of it, that his staff will no longer let him talk to the press unscripted.

Barak Obama graduated from Harvard Law School and went back to his community to help people who had lost their jobs when the plants shut down. He met his wife at the law firm where the worked together, and he has never cheated on his wife, and she has never forged prescriptions or stolen drugs. Obama has never lobbied for anyone that stole billions of dollars from pensioners. Obama's campaign is financed by 1.5 million contributors. Obama's pick for vice president has spent 30 years in the U.S. Senate and is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Obama is taking no medications and is available to talk to the press unscripted. His three main priorities for America are getting out of Iraq, universal healthcare, and American energy independence.

There is no question in my mind which one of these men will make a better president.

All the Republican smear tactics in the world cannot change these facts.

You have posted this over and over and it has been debunked already. There is no need to keep making yourself look like an idiot.

Insults are not convincing arguments.

You have debunked nothing.

Conspiracy theories are his lifeblood. When the voices he communicates with through his tinfoil hat stop feeding new ones to him, he just recycles the old ones.

Bring it on!

Everything I posted was true.

Look I am not going to rehash your failed assertions. You have been proven to be nothing more than a spambot. When someone debunks your lies you post the same lies....It's just like your assertions that the President controls spending. When anybody that had a middle school civics class knows that Congress controls spending, Just like your assertion that Mccain committed wrongdoings in the Keating 5 scandal. When a bipartisan panel, found that Mccain committed no wrongdoings, nor did he violate any Senatorial ethic codes. You claim Obama is for middle class tax cuts, while he voted in the Senate to raise taxes on people making 42,000 dollars a year.....etc....
Your lies continue, but the facts debunk everyone of your false assertions.

Glad you brought it up....

McCain and Keating had become personal friends following their initial contacts in 1981.[8] Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in political contributions from Keating and his associates.[14] In addition, McCain's wife Cindy McCain and her father Jim Hensley had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators. McCain, his family, and their baby-sitter had made nine trips at Keating's expense, sometimes aboard Keating's jet. Three of the trips were made during vacations to Keating's opulent Bahamas retreat at Cat Cay. McCain did not pay Keating (in the amount of $13,433) for some of the trips until years after they were taken, when he learned that Keating was in trouble over Lincoln.[6][15]

On April 9, 1987, a two-hour meeting[4] with three members of the FHLBB San Francisco branch was held, again in DeConcini's office, to discuss the government's investigation of Lincoln.[8][6] Present were Cranston, DeConcini, Glenn, McCain, and additionally Riegle.[6] The regulators felt that the meeting was very unusual and that they were being pressured by a united front, as the senators presented their reasons for having the meeting.[6] McCain said, "One of our jobs as elected officials is to help constituents in a proper fashion. ACC [American Continental Corporation] is a big employer and important to the local economy. "

Senator McCain has violated no law of the United States or specific Rule of the United States Senate."

Like I said you just repeat the same lies over and over even though they have been debunked...

kirk couldn't even have a down to earth political free chat with me earlier this week when was trying to show him some compassion for his family. every message had a theme, global healthcare this, anti-bush that. all wanted to do is show him some respect for supporting his family and he had to include his political feelings that he had already posted 100x on this forum.

In such circumstances, his core challenge will be nothing less than to re-create a sense of national purpose and strength, after a period of drift, decline, and disastrous mistakes.

Boy...I'll say.

He will need to rebuild productive working relationships with friends and allies. He must revitalize a flagging economy; tame a budget awash in red ink; reduce energy dependence and turn the corner on the truly existential issue of climate change; tackle the growing danger of nuclear proliferation; improve the defense of the homeland against global terrorists while putting more pressure on al Qaeda, especially in Pakistan; and, of course, manage two wars simultaneously.

Yeah, basically the next POTUS will have to UNDO most of what Bush II has done, that's true.

To restore the United States to its proper world leadership role, two areas of weakness must be repaired: the domestic economy and the United States' reputation in the world. Although the economy is usually treated as a domestic issue, reviving it is as important to the nation's long-term security as is keeping U.S. military strength unchallengeable. This will require more than a cyclical upturn; to repair the economy in the long term, a new national policy on energy and climate change will be essential. And restoring respect for American values and leadership is essential -- not because it is nice to be popular but because respect is a precondition for legitimate leadership and enduring influence.

Hard to do if the next POTUS agreed with the current administration 90% of the time, I think.

History is not immutable. But there is one pattern that comes very close to being a law of history: in the long run, the rise and fall of great nations is driven primarily by their economic strength. Rome, imperial China, Venice, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom -- all had their day, and their international decline followed inexorably from their economic decline.

As I've been screaming, on this board and the former one I posted on for years, the ECONOMY is in a shables because we have rewarded corporations for OUTSOURCING, and rewarded nations whose support we needed during the cold war by allowing them to import stuff which caused industries here to fail.

We have GOT to change that policy or this nation will become a third world nation.

Do you folks realize that it is now twice as easy in India or China for a person starting out in the poorest quintile of incomes to go to the top quintile, as it is here in the USA?

A poor but talented young person in CHINA or INDIA is TWICE AS LIKELY to get rich in China or India as he or she is in AMERICA.

Think about that, VERY seriously.

That startling statisic puts the lie to the American dream, doesn't it?

That tells us that we are moving AWAY from being a society that rewards us based on MERIT, doesn't it?

And if we don't reward those of merit, who do we reward?

Them what's already got is who gets those cushy jobs at the top (like Bush II for example, who was unqualified to be POTUS by anyone sane's standards)

Another alarming statistic....

America's percentage of college grads is going DOWN every year.

But in the developing former third world nations, the percentage of people with college degrees is going UP at spectacular rates. The ALREADY graduate twice as many college grads as we do, folks, and their rates of college grads and educated are rising every year just as our are going DOWN.

At the very moment when education is the key to a nation's future, AMERICA is abandoning its children to sink or swin ON THEIR OWN.

I can think of no trend more destructive to our future than how we're currently treating and educating (or not) our next generation, folks.

We compete with nations which give their kids college education FOR FREE.

Meanwhile we expect our kids to borrow the cost of their educations and then graduate into a society which can't offshore its industries fast enough.

BOTH PARTIES are responsible for these destrutive trends, folks.

BOTH of them have voted time and again AGAINST the vast majority of American people's interests.
