What the bond market is saying about a trump win.

The only reason stocks and bonds went up under Biden is because it was the rich getting richer and the poor paying the price for it. That's why the working class voted for Trump and why stocks and bonds are going to fall under Trump.
Stocks go up based on the earnings of the underlying companies they represent and the projection of what their future earnings will be.
Your comment about bonds reflects an ignorance of what drives their prices and the yields they produce.

What about the deflationary effect of mass deportations?

That's what simple minds think. Stocks and bonds go up and down largely based on "feelings". According to what you just posted, a sound company making good profits would go up in a recession or a depression. Most of the time that doesn't happen. When the market crashes, it all goes down, no matter how good a company is doing. Stocks have gone up under Biden because the rich are getting richer, at the expense of the poorer and the middle class.

Well yeah it will cause inflation at first but not as bad as the inflation caused by the loss of a manufacturing base to an undercutting foreign competitor. We stupidly backed ourselves into this corner and pain is the only way out.
Our manufacturing base was not lost to a foreign competitor. Our very own American companies moved their manufacturing to other countries.

Google "product manufacturing smiley curve" and you will see why.

Interesting term...
Bond Vigilante....

Tell me more....si vous plait.

Jo
"Bond vigilante" is a common term. When a government issues more and more debt, after a while the people who buy that debt begin doubting the ability of that government to pay its debts, and so they begin demanding a higher interest rate on that debt.

You're welcome.

Hmmm....

Trump and his horde were constantly bragging about the rising stock market during his first term.

Were they simple-minded, too?

What causes inflation?

For the unaware, the bond market, in terms of dollars invested, is many times larger than the stock market. Long duration bond yields had been dropping for quite a while in response to the Fed getting inflation under control. More recently, bond yields have been climbing again over concern of a trump election victory. Because bond market players realize his idiotic tariff plan is inflationary.
WHOOPSIE!

DEI affects this also.
