First of all it doesn't cost musk a penny.
Secondly: it simply solidifies the opposing base.
Thirdly: they're running the risk of being charged as domestic terrorists, arsonists at the very least.
Fourth: considering the expense it will certainly drive up the local car insurance rates for everybody not just musk supporters.
