What kind of person puts a political sign in their yard?

Each election I mention to the wife that we need to put one up for a county commissioner candidate or other lesser known political position just for appearance of being astute. I never get around to doing it though, not worth the bother of seeking a sign.

I've never been able to understand what drives a person to do this. They just have to let us all know who they are voting for. It's comical.

Maybe its like a salt block while deer hunting? Baiting the field. Put up a Trump sign to draw in crazy leftists so you get a much easier shot at them?

Those who want neighbors and passerby's to know where they stand politically
Those who hope to motivate others
Those who aren't scared and don't think there should be taboo in who folks vote for
