Zone1 What Jesus endured, we also must endure or we won't make it to Heaven

"I have not come to abolish the Law but to fulfill it"
Exactly. To fulfill the law is to comply with its demands. Jesus said that those who had faith would do as he was doing, complying with the deeper implications of the written words used in the Law.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside even one of the least of these commands, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven,"

To understand what Jesus meant by saying "Will be called LEAST",..... See Genesis 3:14

If the consequence for defying the Law of God (as you do at every mass) is death, then to teach others to do what you are doing at mass amounts to murder. You are a murderer in the same way that "Satan was a murderer from the beginning", even though he didn't kill anyone in the fairy tale

:splat:

Have a nice day!

What Jesus endured, we also must endure ...

And? Did you find someone who likes to crucify you, Brian? You should be able to find enough people who like it - unless they are Christians.

Freedom is found via the way/will of God. Otherwise, we are stuck with what is likely the worst and most selfish taskmaster of all--oneself, doing nothing.
I look at it this way. A motorcycle rider loves the "freedom of the open road". Hmmm. How free is that bike if you go OFF the road?

I agree!

"I have not come to bring peace but a sword"

"Take, from my hand, this cup of fiery wine and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it. When they have drunk it they will vomit and go mad; such is the sword that I am sending among them"

"From his mouth there went a sharp sword with which to smite the nations"

"Take this cup of wine and drink from it, all of you. This is a cup of my blood, the blood of the covenant"

Just art thou, in these thy judgments, thou Holy One who art and wast; for they shed the blood of thy people and of thy prophets and thou hast given them blood to drink"

"This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword I will send among you."

He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword.

:wine:

THE SWORD IS A CURSE UNDER THE APPEARANCE OF A CUP OF WINE.
You are LITERALLY inventing your own quotes, based on your perverse, conspiracy theory riddle - false interpretations of scripture and then quoting them as scripture.

Where is the following phrase directly quoted in the Bible......???

"Take, from my hand, this cup of fiery wine and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it. When they have drunk it they will vomit and go mad; such is the sword that I am sending among them"

As far as the rest - you take a few words - barely a sentence from a various books of the Old Testament - written in completely different times - by prophets speaking of specific wars, redemption against enemies of Israel, etc - completely unrelated to most of what Jesus taught.

You seem like a smart guy - try to do better.

Revelation 2:

24 “ ‘ “And I say to the rest of you in Thyatira who have not accepted this teaching and who have no knowledge of what are designated as the deep secrets of Satan,[m] I shall not impose any further burden on you, 25 but hold firmly to what you have until I come.

Life is full of crosses and we all have to carry them, like it or not. The only alternative is to kill yourself, but that is when your troubles will REALLY begin, according to the ancient Christian Church (which is Catholic, the only one that goes back to the FIRST century [again, not speaking of the Vatican sect which is no longer Catholic]).

The True Catholic Faith teaches it's a mortal sin to kill yourself and you will (very likely) go straight to Hell. I say Very likely reluctantly because it would seem anyone who does this goes to Hell, but only God knows who goes to Hell or not. However, I say, Why take a chance?

So anyhow, if Christians feel crucified a lot -- because people don't agree w/ them on this and that.. because others don't like them mentioning Jesus "all the time" and etc... well, as the Original Church also taught, we are all called to be alter cristus (I believe that is the correct term), which means being another Christ.

Jesus said that whatever is done to the least of His people is done to Him. (Mt 25:31) so Doesn't that mean that He lives in us and therefore suffers with us through all that we go through?

Why this is so is a great mystery... seeing as how God could, if He wanted to.. remove all suffering from the Earth. Instead, we suffer along with Christ (who lives in us).

We don't like it..

But it is what it is...
Jesus endured crucifixion.

I think I’ll pass.
