What is the longest commute you had for work

When I was working construction, one job site was an hour away from home.

When I deployed with the Air Force, you could say my commute was 12 hours in a C-5A Galaxy. ;)

Currently, it's about 5 minutes.

Hour and a half each way, unless there is bad traffic in which case...

I have to drive a whopping 35 miles each way and it’s utterly exhausting

How long did you drive for this long ??
My normal commute was ninety minutes each way, but in bad weather it could stretch to six hours each way.

15 miles. Took an hour + in Los Angeles circa 2015.

About 5 miles when I worked for DuPont.

When I worked for VDOC we worked 7 days on and 7 days off (usually 14 hr days) and stayed on the unit in barracks.....Home was about 40 minutes away.

My longest commute was 1.25 hours, but if it snowed, that easily went to 2 or more.

Worked on a new construction hotel in Lansdale, PA....The closest decent accommodations were in Bethlehem, about 30 miles.

Though the commute sucked, the ABE area had a lot of cool local joints, and the Cigar's International HQ was nearby....So I'd rate the experience a push.

Early in my career, I commuted that distance for about two years and I agree that it is exhausting. Worse yet, it kills cars. I left that job and worked the last 33 years with a 5 mile commute. Take heart, there are people who commute from the CA central valley to the SF Bay Area daily over 100 miles.

It isn't just about how far you drove but where and when. 35 miles on the highway at 2PM is not the same as 35 miles of local roads in heavy traffic at 6AM.

I had a job that was 30 miles each way that half of it was on local roads and construction, there was a city between me and my destination I have to navigate through and around, and I worked round the clock, sometimes leaving at 5AM, sometimes leaving at 1PM, and sometimes leaving at 10PM at night, and come hell or high water, you HAD to be there.

Then of course, the other matter was what you had to do once there.

6 hours?....come on.....
Yep, a snow storm in Southern California. I was traveling from the San Fernando Valley to Palmdale. Cars in both ditches two deep and only a few of us knowing how to drive on snow and ice. I never got out of first gear.

Longest was 2 hours by plane.

Thankfully my jobs have always been just a few minutes away from my home. :) :) :)

God bless you always!!!
