When the Second World War ended in 1945 the national debt as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) was 114%.

During President Carter's last full year in office this had declined to 32%.

It declined during the Korean War and the War in Vietnam. During this time the top tax rate never got below 70%, and was often much higher.

Because of Republican tax cuts for the rich the national debt as a percentage of GDP rose to 129% during Trump's last full year in office.

After two years of President Biden it declined to 123%,

Right now Congressional Republicans are using the debt crises for which they are responsible as an excuse to cut spending on popular domestic programs.

Except they wouldn't exist. Plus socialized medicine systems don't prescribe new and expensive drugs as far as I know.

Gould withholds from his readers that The Bell Curve is mainly an empirical work about the causes of social stratification and that it reached its conclusions only after fully analyzing a 12-year longitudinal study of 12,486 youths (3022 of whom were African-American), which showed that most 17-year-olds with high IQs (Blacks as well as Whites) went on to occupational success by their late 20s and early 30s whereas many of those with low IQs (both Black and White) went on to welfare dependency. The average IQ for African-Americans was found to be lower than those for Latino-, White-, Asian-, and Jewish-Americans (85, 89, 103, 106, and 115, respectively, pp. 273-278). Failure to mention these data fosters the false belief that IQ tests are not predictive and are biased in favor of North Europeans.

Interesting that the IQs of Jews is even higher than Asians, which can be extrapolated to assume that their SAT scores at least as high as well.

I can guarantee you one thing: nobody is lowering admissions standards to get more Jews in!

Askenazi Jews owe their high IQ averages to the fact that for about a thousand years in Christian countries they were not allowed to practice most trades and professions. They were allowed to practice finance. Finance required the ability to learn complex skills. For most of this time they had to use Roman Numbers to practice arithmetic. Roman Numbers do not have a concept of zero and they are difficult to work with.

Jewish men who could not learn financial skills did not have children, or they left the faith.

Blacks blame slavery and discrimination for their low IQ averages and their high rates of crime and illegitimacy. Persecution made the Ashkenazim the most intelligent race on earth, on the average.

Believe it or not you can have intelligent conversations about the subject without using hateful language. Unfortunately most such conversation degenerate into hateful language because the people in the conversation harbor a lot hate which is why I don't participate in such discussions. You had brought up the history of the Jewish people before, and how mating and children selected for intelligence. Very interesting, and quite believable.

Stereotypes are over generalizations of what is really true. There is no stereotype of a fat Chinese woman on welfare with five illegitimate children by five different men. There is no stereotype of a stupid, lazy Jewish man with several felony convictions and several illegitimate children he does nothing to support.

No one says that East Asians and Jews are dangerous and inferior. Those who hate them resent their superiority.

Persecution did not cause blacks to have lower IQ averages. Cold climates and civilization placed evolutionary pressures on higher intelligence.

The African environment did place some evolutionary pressure on intelligence. Most human evolution happened in Africa. The main human characteristic that evolved in Africa was intelligence. Nevertheless, cold climates and civilization placed even more evolutionary pressure on intelligence.

The Ashkenazim had to evolve quickly, so they picked up some gene alleles that are dominant for higher intelligence, but recessive for genetic diseases more prominent among the Ashkenazim, such as Tay-Sachs disease.
