What has happened to the Republican Party?
Where to start…

In essence the Party became the repository of reactionary fear, ignorance, and hate: fear of positive, beneficial change, fear of diversity, and fear of inclusion.
Yes. I’ve witnessed the lefts positive beneficial change for over 40 years. The best examples can be found in Seattle,Portland,LA and San Francisco. It’s just dandy!

What has happened to the Republican Party?
The GOP was founded in 1854 by opponents of the Kansas–Nebraska Act,[11] which allowed for the potential expansion of chattel slavery into the western territories. The party supported economic reform and classical liberalism while opposing the expansion of slavery.
They are now the party that includes White Nationalism. The America First Caucus (AFC) exists to promote Congressional policies that are to the long-term benefit of the American nation,”
A party started on high moral standards to a party of immorality.
The GOP has become the party of the common man, what the Democrats once were before they became socialists.

Don't forget Detroit, that was the template all of the hellholes you mentioned are aspiring to.

Those who weave to deceive gave us Donald Trump, using white nationalism and high school educated populists as wedges into the bod politic,.

The past 30 years of white nationalism in federal politics helped seed the rise of mass incarceration between 1994 and 2012, ... while Donald Trump was president.

After decades of saying “small government, fiscal responsibility and family values” while doing the EXACT OPPOSITE, the Republicans needed a new tag line.

After trying many different options they ended up going with “cancel culture, gays in bathrooms, and black people deserve being shot”. This resonated with uneducated white people easy to scare and the super rich who pull their strings and financially benefit.

The GOP is just appealing to the working class rural folks who the Democrats left behind and continually demean.
I agree the Democrats have not given enough attention to rural working class.
The Republicans gave them attention but fed them hateful lies. Lies saying their problems were the result of immigrants, minorities, government discrimination.
Their biggest problem is our economy has evolved leaving the jobs they had, behind. You cannot roll the clock back. The economy is constantly evolving. We have to have the skills for 21st century jobs.

First the tea party happened and then Trump. They stopped trying to govern and instead focused their efforts on PR, fund raising and gaining personal power. They are in a sad state. It’s too bad

Populism is rising among the GOP, and trying to help blue collar workers find new jobs is a lot of the focus of that. Trump tried to help out with regard to certain trade policies.

Ultimately, the biggest help would be creating more job programs to educate these workers with new skills. This is something that you could likely get bipartisan support for.

So we are to believe that the ignorant rednecks, and lesser educated white folks of America are actually genius enough to send, receive, and hide coded messaging in a vast white wing conspiracy that only the looniest of liberals can comprehend? Wow!

Obama started that hate filled behavior, a traditional Democrat. No wonder Biden became his bitch.

They sold their collective soul for power, and now have no morals, values, or common sense.

Yeah but there only answer on how to pay for all that is taxing a select group more which falls under the category of dividing people by economic standing.

I think that falls under class warfare, another democrat divisive issue along with every other issue they push.

Well that's a lie.
How is it a lie? Look at how many Democrats put down white rural people. Rednecks are basically the only group you can ridicule openly without worry of losing your job, and that's primarily driven by liberal media.

It shouldn't be a surprise that most rural whites hate the media in general and hate liberalism as a result.
