What happens if you die alone??

Let’s say you live alone , have no friends and don’t work and you just drop dead

Is this a rarity that nobody could ever find you and you just decompose for several months

It’s a scary predicament, yes
does a dying person make a sound if no one is around to hear it :abgg2q.jpg:

How can you be reborn if you are cremated !!
It’s so final
I've heard a couple of Rabbis explain that G-d can do all, including returning all of ones atoms and elements.

He used the Holocaust as an example. All those faithful who perished will be risen again whenever that day arrives even though they weren't buried as G-d demands.

Let us pray he is right.

As for those souls who murdered them. That's not for me to decide but I wouldn't wager a nickel that they found salvation in the afterlife (there are MANY different opinions about life after death, satan and hell from Judaism perspective, I won't get go down that path in this thread).

There was a guy in Germany in the early 90's I remember reading about, he was a skeleton when they found him, he was in a chair, watching TV, it was turned on but no longer working. I guess the government paid his rent and no one was looking for him, and he sat there for years before he was found.

AI Overview

If someone dies alone at home, authorities are notified, and the body is typically taken to the medical examiner's office. The medical examiner will attempt to identify the body and locate next of kin. If the body is not identified or next of kin cannot be found, it may be held by the office until a funeral director can be found, or turned over to the Department of Transitional Assistance.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • Notification and Investigation:
If the death is unexpected, the police will be notified and will investigate to rule out foul play.

  • Medical Examiner Involvement:
The medical examiner's office will be contacted, and an investigator will be sent to the scene.

    • Identification Attempts:
The medical examiner's office will attempt to identify the deceased through various methods, including fingerprints and dental records.
    • Next of Kin Search:
If identified, authorities will attempt to contact next of kin to arrange for burial or cremation.
    • Unclaimed Bodies:
If the body cannot be identified or if no next of kin can be located, the body may be held by the medical examiner's office.
    • Disposition of Unclaimed Bodies:
If the body remains unclaimed for an extended period, it may be cremated or donated to science, depending on local laws and regulations.
    • Intestate Succession:
If there are no heirs or will, the deceased's property and possessions are subject to intestate succession, which is a process by which the estate is distributed by the court.

If the mail man sees your mail backing up....they call the cops.

Usually a neighbor realizes you haven't been taking your mail in, or they smell you as they walk past...
.

This happened to a neighbor in an apartment building I lived in. He offed himself or drank himself to death and the way we knew was the smell.

At that point, you will be dead, so would it really make much difference when they found you?

I worry, because I live alone with a dog. But I have made a few friends in church who would not leave me lying alone for too long. That's the benefit of going to church every day. We check up on each other when someone's been absent for too long.

One trusted friend in church has the key code to my front door.

I care about the group I have willed my home to. If I laid there decomposing for too long, it might be harder to sell the home.

My father was a cop. When you die alone, your body swells up over time and smells god-awful. He found a few bodies like that back in the day in Detroit.
