There is nothing worse than someone looking at personal gain over duty. He should collect all the opinions and information and rely on those with least to gain by telling him the facts, not some who might get a fat consulting gig post-politics etc.

Also, he MUST sign an E.O to have the military focus on more nimble, A.I drone, defense of drones (lazers shoot down drones apparently at 30 cents a shot) and demand the M.I.C build cheaper products, only a few selection specialized products and this more volume be it missiles, drones, robotics, A.I etc.

Start a drone armament program for the Iranian people. The IRGC and Basij are defecting, the only way real Regime change happens is if the people chase out or kill the remnants. Having just listened to Trump's speech, I don't think he knows what he is going to do.

He is going to have the military hang around for a bit and keep the Iranians guessing and on their toes. Eliminate any remaining sources of missile launches etc.

If they do not open the Strait he will have to decide if a blockade is in order. That is the approach I would take. Simply confiscate the oil and will and randomly so Iran will lose their source of income. It will also force Europeans to send their navy to ensure safe passage.

Ultimately, Trump clearly wants out of this mess. He did more than any president prior to reign in Iran, we cannot have another N Korea. He is not going to get bogged down into another Vietnam though. He trusted his confidantes and Graham and he was hurt politically, once again.

They want MAGA gone forever and he may have obliged them. Israel have done their part, Saudi has done little. Neither will commit boots on the ground so, this is a moot scenario.
