As soon as the radical left wing came to power, they purged most of the remaining moderate Democrats. While moderate Democrats were smart enough to lie to voters, then quietly push the true policies and agenda, the radical left wing would have none of that.

The rest of the "party faithful " are caught in an ongoing fashion with hypocrisy and manufactured outrage....meaning nobody takes them seriously anymore.

In any election you have roughly 80% of the votes cast by the party faithful. 40% Republicans and 40% Democrats.

The remaining 20% need to be lured by any combination of meaningless sound bites and reasonable logic. If truly successful campaigns are made in the face of disastrous campaigns then you will garner a few of the party faithful of the opposing party. AKA: a voter mandate to reverse course.

So....with the last presidential election there was indeed a voter mandate....but the Democrats have not shifted even the slightest to reflect the mandate because Trump already owns those positions politically. They cannot seem to pull off a Clinton and claim that the Republican ideas were his all along. (Which they were once a while back....hence the hypocrisy)

There are people who would rather be the ruler/king of a garbage dump than an average citizen in a luxury neighborhood.

Truth be told:
Both Republicans and Democrats alike can be bought off for political contributions that assist your businesses and family members looking for prestigious jobs. Trump's Dept of Agriculture appointee is a prime example....just like his Dept of Education appointee last time. People who did nothing to fix problems but had appointments just the same. Not really ones to get fired either as they really don't do anything.

The HUGE difference between Republicans and Democrats is price....
For $20k you can't even get a 5 minute meeting with a Republican(not enough money)...but for that same $20k you get a lunch, a piece of legislation, and a major platform issue with Democrats. They answer the phone every time you call with specific updates on your specific issue and offer an appointment of a close friend of yours to a committee or cabinet position if need be.

That's the difference....that's why there's a bunch of Democrats.
