Most of the people with conservative views I know are older. They prefer reality shows, sitcoms, and/or religious programing.

Nothing wrong with that but why can't people be more open minded?

Game of Thrones is popular. I haven't got into it yet. Do right wing people of the religious kind think fantasy leads to Satanism?

Or are they repelled by graphic violence?

I can't think of a single sex scene in a movie which had anything to do with the plot or moved the story along. I fast forward through them. They are boring and completely irrelevant.

I have also noticed that movie directors these days think explosions are a suitable replacement for a plot. They see to think a "good" movie requires something to be blown up every five minutes. These movies have plots no better than porn films.

"Oh, hey, baby. I have to shoot someone thirty-eight times. Be right back. Keep your peaches fresh for me."

Bow-chika-chika-bow-bow. KA-BOOM!

(switch to slo-mo as a piece of concrete explodes through an eyeball)

What a strange troll thread this is.

I'm older, I'm not into any of that.... I can binge watch Bar Rescue, which I find hilarious. Other than that, I like documentaries and some old TV shows. Been catching up on the Rockford Files on Netflix. OH, and definitely House of Cards.

When I was on active duty, we had a limited number of movies in our library. I think I saw Pretty Woman a hundred and eighty-two times, but never all at once from beginning to end.

At one point, we watched one scene frame-by-frame because in one frame you can see Julia Roberts's nipple.

It's a rough life in the military.

The third season of House of Cards has jumped the shark.

I watch a lot of documentaries. Best one is Ken Burns's Civil War series.

Best TV show of all time is The Wire.

Can't blame you for focusing on the breast parts of the movie. Fond mammories.

I know.. I watched a Molly Ringwald movie just because I read she showed her boobs. They were a lot bigger than I expected. And Jessica Alba in shorts i the only reason to Watch "Deep Blue".

I binge watch the science and discovery channels. How Its Made, How the Universe Works, Through the Wormhole, Deadliest Catch, Gold Rush, Survivor Man, Dirty Jobs. Which explains why I'm 10x smarter than most liberals.

We watch Game of Thrones. Top picks here are: Game of Thrones, puzzle solving (Air Disasters, True Detective, anything crime solving), Bloodlines, Blindspot, Elementary, Blacklist, How it's Made, Mythbusters, Top Gear (British, not US), documentaries and news from MSNBC to FoxNews to BBC.

The Wire (TV Series 2002–2008) - IMDb

Some of the actors in that series are actually from Baltimore. Even better, some of the gangstas are played by people who were cops in real life, and vice versa.

I like that they don't insult the intelligence of the viewer. One of the best scenes is two cops investigating a crime scene, and during the entire time they drop the f-bomb over and over, with no other dialog. But the whole time, you know exactly what they are doing, and why they are doing it.

That series has the best bad-ass bad guy ever. Omar Little.

OP- Considering the number of retirees on SS alone (Thanks GOP), it's probable they can't afford top cable, and basic is full of cheap reality shows, cheap sitcoms with crap writing, ditto drama. Thank god for PBS (Predominantly British Programming). Then there's all the movies and programming directed toward 14 year olds. Thank god for retro and the Rockford files and TCM.
