The chart shows a fact we all knew....the ND helped with unemployment. There is no arguing that.

Show me a fact that it is responsible for the recovery.

And I believe, along with 50% (made up % by you)of Americans that the ND created jobs that allowed the American People an opportunity to survive the economic failure wioth as little pain as possible....but in a free economy, there is very little that a government can do to cause a recovery...short of FORCING the people to buy things they dont necessrily need.It worked didnt it, the American people did buy things with the jobs that the ND created and then gained the benifit of the infrastructure that continued to create economic growth for decades to come).

Frank you fool, I have been saying that the New deal worked and when FDR backed off of it in 1937 to balence the budget the recovery slumped. The next year he reinstated teh New deal. portions he backed off of. The economy then jumped again.

Take a hard look at your chart and realise that FDR was elected in 1933.

Point 1 - The word is Integral, but the New deal was not.
Point 2 - The Democrats controlled congress from 1930. They blocked every attempt by Hoover to alleviate the depression in order to gain the presidency for their party. Only DNC hacks deny this truth.
Once FDR was in office his policies made the situation worse. This is easily seen in the length of the depression - far longer than a normal recession- and the indisputable fact that it endured until the US entered WWII.

If Obama does not screw up then this particular down cycle should end in the next few months. On the other hand he IS a socialist who would prefer people to be miserable, and blame the other party, if it gave the government greater control.
