I am doing more thinking than you've exhibited here when I'm sound asleep. The term "liberal academics" is essentially meaningless. There is no such definable group. The contention that this ill-defined group is guilty of brainwashing (another ill-defined and essentially meaningless term) their students into believing the radical idea that they should exercise some concern for our environment is simply ignorant. To believe such a thing and believe it deserves concern is evidence of paranoia and irrational bias.

Education is the teaching of FACTS, and teaching how to process facts into new ideas.

Indoctrination is the teaching of students only certain information that can ONLY lead to a pre-set ideology.

Unfortunately that is what happens in much of academia (and public school) today.
