what comes to your mind if you think of Korea?

I think of…

Never mind

I’ll keep that to myself

How pleasant it is in the suburbs of Seoul. For anyone who does not want to live like in North Korea.

Great pictures. I was stationed there in 1964. A photographer friend would take these sorts of pictures. We'd pay him for copies. I sent a stack of great 'local color' 8x10 b/w pictures home. They never arrived. :(

South Korea is no exception

South Korea's prosecutors have asked for the death penalty for former President Yoon Suk-yeol, who's on trial for imposing martial law in 2024, according to Yonhap News Agency. A team of special prosecutors demanded the death penalty during the final hearing in the Yoon Suk-yeol case at a Seoul court. The prosecution described the former politician as the leader of a rebellion, who sought to retain power by seizing control of the judicial and legislative branches of government.

The tradition continues. Recall that only one of South Korea's 14 presidents has escaped scandal, prison, or even assassination.

In three years, over 80,000 (!) houses have been built there, which will be home to millions of Koreans.
But that's not the worst part. Do you know what they really don't have there? MORTGAGES, LOANS, DEBT BONDAGE.
And all apartments are free!
Because it's socialism, folks!
