Yes it does taste pretty much the same. And chickpeas have lots of protein -- cleaner and healthier than meat.I'm gonna make myself a late lunch, since I skipped breakfast this morning.
I know this probably doesn't sound good, but hear me out... lol.... for anyone who doesn't want to eat seafood anymore, you can make a plantbased "tuna" salad sandwich with chickpeas.
You mash chickpeas in a bowl...then add mayo, a little dijon mustard, chopped onion, chopped celery if you like celery (I don't), relish, salt, pepper, a little lemon.... and mix it all together. And put it on toasted bread, with tomato slices.
It is SO flippin good! And believe it or not, it tastes pretty much exactly like a tuna salad sandwich.
I'm going to make that now, since my stomach is growling.![]()
I didn't have it today, but I love falafels. Also made with Chickpeas
