True; the Democratic Party lost the election. It was not 'won' by anyone else other than by default. With only two vaguely different parties offered (offered, it must be noted, by those two parties themselves that have taken over America's political processes), the choices were a joke. This is why many of us voted for obscure other candidates with no chance; better to participate than not vote and better to vote 'other' than 'either'.
