Wernher Von Braun

@TnHarely

Perhaps you are able to understand this: You are the anti-flat-earther who creates flat-earthers so he self-fulfills a "truth" which never really existed nor exists.

:aargh:

Your "laughing" is totally displaced in themes which are heavy millions of deaths. Christopher Columbus for example started to murder Red Indians.

So you are an idiot and this man is an idiot or you both are comedians who are still fascinated from a hundredfifty years old joke.
I dont give a damn what you say, retard. There are flat earthers everywhere.
You being completely ignorant of the world around you, is not my problem.

With men like Wernher von Braun the son or grandson of Christopher Columbus had been easily able to reach India and had been only stopped from a strange continent in the middle of this travel. And perhaps never anyone had to murder anyone else because of this discovery. Then perhaps today would live about 800 million people in the USA and most of them had "Indian" ancestors, flat earther - ah sorry: anti flat earther.

I read that he started off as an atheist, and was even known by his friends at one time as 'the merry heathen'..... but then later in his life became a believer.

As for putting that Psalm verse on his gravestone... I too think it's an interesting choice.

Maybe he knew something we don't know and that was his way of sending a posthumous message? :dunno:

This guy was fascinating. Was a NAZI, a rocket scientist, worked for the US, worked with Walt Disney, director of the Marshall Space Flight Center, and his group of rocket engineers turned into NASA.
Considering the science stuff of his bio, look at his gravestone.

That verse reads : The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
If you dont know what the "firmament" means : vast solid dome, created by God on the second day of creation, which divides the primal “waters” into upper and lower portions
From what I recall, people that take this literally, think space is all bullshit, and they think outside the firmament, is just water.

Before you say it, I do not believe in the Abrahamic God. I find the 7 days of creation to be inconsistent with basic science. So I do not believe in a firmament, or a flat earth. But for THAT GUY to have THAT verse on gravestone? Its crazy lol.

He was a Nazi who had Germany survived a few more years, would have helped design for them rockets and missiles to conquer the world, but for a price, a price of freedom from Hitler, a price of freedom from prosecution, a good paying job and the opportunity to sell out to the Americans and work for us instead, helped build our 1960s Apollo space program instead.

It is incredible the abilities of the German people. The technologies they developed in the 1930's and 1940's for such a medium sized nation is nothing more than astonishing. We know the downside of the NAZIS however we cannot doubt their intellectual superiority at a higher percentage than many other nations.

Anybody have a comment on the irony of his gravestone?

A lot of genus level people have religious epiphanies; it's pretty common, and probably hardwired into most human brains. Hayek's The Fatal Conceit might explain why 'rational constructivism ' has been a miserable failure, while Christian traditions have been far more successful than 'logic' and atheism has been as a social foundation and policy. Truly smart people realize more than others just how limited 'logic' and rationalism' is outside of some limited applications in technology and science. Scientists are usually a lot better read outside their specialist fields than most ' Liberal Arts' types are.

They got a lot of it form Americans and Brits, and also from the French, who had their own Renaissance scientists or a long time; our earliest engineering texts before and after the Revolution were mostly in French, not German, and of course after European Jews had their own 'Enlightenment' movement in the late 18th Century Jewish scientists practically single-handedly invented the field of Bio-Chemistry as a discipline.

Well, there's always this doozy from the OG quantum physicist...

cool. a fake quote offered by fraudball. shocking.

you are an idiot.

I know. Nevertheless it is a little bigger idiocy to try to reach India over the Atlantic with a ship like Santa Maria in 1492 AD. The murderous idiot Columbus is only a hero because a continent was in his way. It's the continent who got from Martin Waldseemüller and his team the name "America" to honor Amerigo Vespucchi.

By the way: The NASA did not like to give Wernher von Braun a job with responsibility. They thought it is enough to get his knowledge. But the Russians wan more and more - and so they needed a fanatics like him. And when I say "fanatics" then I do not think about Nazis in his case. I guess the Nazis had been for him as unimportant as anyone else. He lived his dream. And his dream was not from this earth here.

And I do not think today for anyone on our planet it would be easy to build a spaceship like the Saturn V again - with the techniques of the 1960ies.
