The 14th Amendment passed after the Civil War by a bunch of lunatics calledāRadical Republicansā (who would have impeached Lincoln btw if he hadnāt been shot into martyrdom) has been the most aggressively abused Amendment in history. Citizenship, overturning states rights on gay marriage, every stupid social justice complaint ever received such as transgender teens dressing with girls in high-school locker rooms, means it needs to be overturned.
Gideon v. Wainwright 1963 will never be overturned so itās safe. Crybaby leftist lawyers and judges have attempted to ruin the fabric of our society with it.
Balanced Budget Amendment is necessary in order to cut out waste in government. Department of Energy...GONE ! Planned Parenthood ... GONE ! HUD...GONE ! Food Stamps...GONE ! Head Start...GONE! Obamacare...GONE ...! Social Security for kids being raised by grandparents because their real parents shouldnāt have been allowed to breed...GONE ! Force citizens to stop being welfare bums.
What is a Convention of States? - COSAction
Before the turn of the 20th century, Progressives tried to sneak in a Federal Income tax but it was struck down by SCOTUS
Today in History: Income Tax Ruled Unconstitutional in Pollock v. Farmers Loan Trust Co. | Tax Foundation
Back then, they actually did not ignore the Constitution like they did now, so they simply added to the Constitution.
Since then debt has exploded exponentially, along with the creation of the Fed to give them money they can't collect with Federal taxes. The creation of the Federal Income tax without any restrictions on spending doomed the Republic.
How they did this is equally fascinating, Essentially the Prohibition amendment was the key.to sell the Federal Income tax. Before the modern personal income tax in 1913, Uncle Sam relied mainly on customs duties and liquor taxation. From 1870 through 1912 receipts from these two taxes alone accounted for more than two-thirds of federal revenues (and in many years accounted for more than 75 percent). Liquor taxes trailed only customs duties as the largest single source of revenue during the half-century preceding the modern income tax, with liquor taxes accounting for about a third of federal revenues.
At that time, alcohol was devastating society, as it does today with more people dying from alcohol than any other drug.
Alcohol overuse results in more deaths than the opioid epidemic, and most are young women
So Progressives saw this and simply combined forces with evangelicals to rid society of the murderous substance in return for their support to embrace the Federal Income tax.
Once they added the Federal Income tax to the Constitution, the desire to enforce Prohibition waned. In fact, in the documentary on Prohibition by Ken Burns is shows Congressmen bringing boot leggers to the chambers of Congress to sell them the illegal substance.
But the goal was never to make Prohibition work. The goal was to pass the Federal Income tax and then let Prohibition to fail so that they then would have taxes from both the Federal Income tax and alcohol sales.
As with everything else, it's all about money.
The icing on the cake was that Progressive could then turn right around and blame evangelicals for the initial Prohibition and it's climatic failure.
