Washington Post audio of Trump berating and threatening Georgia Secretary of State for not "finding" votes to change election result. Sedition?

That was the death bell of American democracy if not repudiated by every American regardless of political leanings. It was out right immoral and criminal....
Seems to me it will depend on whether we learn from these four years, consider them an instructive cautionary tale, and refuse to go back.

Will that happen? The jury is out. No pun intended.
A stress test finds the weak spots. We’ll need to shore them up because the next criminal won’t be as incompetent and dumb as Donald, that’s impossible. We may have totally lucked out there.
Bingo. We have to learn from this, because yes, the next one will be far better than Trump. We did luck out.

Somehow, I do not feel lucky ;)

..just like all the other dumbshit--Mr Trump ties his shoes -IMPEACH him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Attempting to pressure a subordinate to "find some votes" is at best an abuse of power. Hardly insignificant.
but he's not pressuring --how many times are people going to spew shit---that's only your OPINION

Seriously? The POTUS, the LEADER of your PARTY, the LEADER of your NATION, who can politically wreck your career isn't "pressuring" when he spends an hour on the phone telling you you have to find some votes.

You guys must be a special kind of stupid...or maybe it's just the koolaid you consume.
Raffensperger wrecked his career all by himself.
Ya, integrity tends to be a career wrecker when it comes to Trumplicans.
"Integrity" my ass. Raffensperger is the one who made the decision to by the Dominion voting machines. He ran the election. If fraud is uncovered, then it's his ass hanging on the petard.

What’s wrong with the machines?

Have you been in a coma?
Have you been in a coma?

Yes. Please explain the problems you see with the dominion machines.
Then explain how the hand count in GA came to the same result as the machines.

Trump begs Georgia secretary of state to overturn election results in remarkable hourlong phone call (nbcnews.com)

Full tape, no pay wall.

Some of ya'll need to listen to the whole thing with some discernment. Yes, he did say those words and many more besides but full context is everything.
Thanks for that. You are right, there is context there. However, all of Trump's 'evidence' is nothing but his feelings. Again and again, the lady from Georgia is asking him to send through the information they have, and at one stage he said that 'it is unnecessary'. Really? We should just believe him.

One of his things is that people from out of state voted. And when it is explained to him that some of those people moved out of Georgia and then moved back again - over a period of years - he gets condescending, like 'as if people do that'. Well, yeah, Donald, people move back and forth all the time.

However the biggest lack of evidence for mine, is not just with Georgia, but all the other states (funnily only the battleground ones he lost), he talks of thousands of people turning up to vote but being told they can't because they have voted already. Apparently those people are really pissed off. Only problem is, I haven't seen one person interviewed who said that has happened to them, let alone the 20,000 that Donald said.

Also, he said 4,000 dead people voted. Georgia found two. I could go on.

Trump is nuts.

And yet you skipped the parts that they all agreed there were large discrepancies in the vote counts that totaled more than the number needed to win and they weren't doing all they could or should do to ensure the integrity of their system or results. Trump did say a few times that he just wanted to know the truth and was asking them to investigate it and they did say they would look into it.

Trump did not threaten anyone to make them give him the needed votes.....like the media has spun it

Can you point out - like give the time stamp - where they agreed there were discrepancies.

They said several times that his information was wrong. He might have said he wanted the truth, but he was also TELLING (not ASKING) the folks in Georgia that they were wrong and he won the state...period.
Trying to be funny? Or do you have a better tape with time stamps, that can be paused or searched thru?? I'd venture a guess somewhere between 1/2 & 3/4 of the way thru, maybe? But I'm not going to listen thru the whole tape again just to prove your bias

Thanks but I don't want or need anyone else's opinion. I'd rather listen to the tape myself and form my own opinion on the matter.....which I have.

Have you?

Yes.....I have listened to the tape.

the full one hour tape??? Or just the media excerpts?

The whole hour. Trump is disgusting. He's repeating himself and browbeating them.

They should do the smart thing and block his calls. :)

President Trump urged fellow Republican Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state, to “find” enough votes to overturn his defeat in an extraordinary one-hour phone call Saturday that election experts said raised legal questions.

The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”

Throughout the call, Raffensperger and his office’s general counsel rejected Trump’s assertions, explaining that the president is relying on debunked conspiracy theories and that President-elect Joe Biden’s 11,779-vote victory in Georgia was fair and accurate.

Trump is talking about sedition and overturning the will of the people through fraud.

Trump should be arrested for sedition for attempting to overthrow the newly elected governement of the United States of America.
sounds just like your Russian Collusion bullshit
In other words, you think that this kind of behavior is acceptable, yes? If Biden pulled a shit stunt like this, you would want his balls on a platter.
You have to put America's rightwing into the proper perspective. These are the same freaks who defended Trump when he tossed paper towels to flood victims.

And Democrat liberals who cheered when Pelosi ripped up a STOU speech on camera, and held back aid to suffering American's in this pandemic because she didn't want to give a win to Trump.....You fucking hacks have NO STANDING to call anyone anything!
Nah. Pelosi wanted a cash payout to cash-strapped Americans, and McConnel refused. That is why she opposed the bill as written. Do some research before passing judgment.

america isnt a democracy you stupid fuck,,,
Dumbfuck, Georgia is a democracy and Impeached Trump threatened Georgia's Secretary of State with "vague criminal consequences" to "find" enough votes to overturn the will of Georgia's voters.

OH tell me more,,,
Don't need to as I already bitch-slapped you into reality.
I dont feel bitch slapped,,
So? You prolly also don't feel stupid.
why would I???

we are a republic not a democracy,,, and that includes the states,,
Because you are, as you demonstrate yet again. Again, Georgia, just as every other state, is a democracy.

b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections
you do realize that proves me right dont you??
LOLOLOL

Only if you believe Georgians don't elect Georgia's state legislature -- which apparently, you don't believe. :ack-1:
I have to ask,, why didnt you put the definition of a republic up so we can compare the two??
I didn't have to since Georgia's form of government fits the definition of a "democracy."
no it doesnt,,,
LOL

Again...
b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections

Once again, everyone here sees you don't believe that ^^^ is true of Georgia. Or any other state, presumably.
again why didnt you also post the def of a republic so we can compare them side by side??
its almost like youre trying to hide something,,,
Again, that's not my argument. So why would I post something I'm not arguing? My claim is that Georgia, and every one of the individual states, are democracies. And I proved that by posting the definition of a democracy, which absolutely applies to the states. Your inability to comprehend that is not my problem.
because if you did you would realize what youre saying is not true,,, thats why you wont post it,,

Funny how none of you libtards can quote the threat.
LOL

Nah, what's funny is that you're a raging imbecile.

"I think you’re going to find that they are shredding ballots because they have to get rid of the ballots because the ballots are unsigned. The ballots are corrupt, and they’re brand new, and they don’t have seals, and there’s a whole thing with the ballots. But the ballots are corrupt. And you are going to find that they are — which is totally illegal — it is more illegal for you than it is for them because, you know, what they did and you’re not reporting it. That’s a criminal, that’s a criminal offense. And you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. And that’s a big risk." ~ Impeached Trump
Cool.

Where is the threat, Dumbass?
"That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer." ~ Impeached Trump
Cool.

Where it the threat by EXONERATED TRUMP?
Dumbfuck, that's a threat of "vague criminal consequences." It's not my problem you lack the required intelligence to comprehend that.
It is?

You have quite the imagination.
It is. Telling someone they're at "risk" of committing a "criminal offense," which could result in incarceration, is absolutely a threat of "vague criminal consequences." But don't fret, I don't expect someone of your vacuity to understand that. Just go resume your utopia of snacking on paint chips dipped in mercury.
Odd.

I don't see anything about "incarceration" in the quote you provided.

The fact you continue to make up shit exposes how weak your position is, Moron.

You lose again, Fawnboi. :laughing0301:  :laughing0301:
LOLOL

Are you ever not a dumbfuck? Ever???

I mean exactly how retarded are you to not know that committing crime produces a risk of incarceration?? :ack-1:
Hey stupid, Georgia has no mandatory reporting law regarding election crimes. So it isn't illegal to ignore any election law violation.

As such, there is no punishment, much less incarceration.

Do you ever get tired of me exposing what a colossal moron you are?

You lose again, Fawnboi. :laughing0301:  :laughing0301:

I wonder who recorded Trump's rant and who leaked it. I'm glad they did, don't get me wrong. But some people seem to be pretty fed up with Trump and his antics

The call was inappropriate.

The Georgia Sec State should never have agreed to talk to one candidate in the election without including the other candidate.

Trump: Find enough votes until I am elected

You always have to accept a call from the president of the united states. But it was not only wildly inappropriate, but also illegal.

I haven't been keeping track of Trumps lawsuit over the release of the audio tape, but it doesn't look good when they have him on tape asking a state official to "find" aka illegally create, 11,780 votes and certify them for Trump.

"You always have to accept a call from the president of the united states"? Really? Last I checked, this was still a free country, and if other idiots don't have to wear masks, I don't have to accept a call from the president. Matter of fact, if Trump were to call my phone, and I heard the secretary tell me that I was getting a call from him, I would tell them to fuck off as I don't want to talk to an idiot.

If Trump showed up on my front porch and knocked on my door? I'd probably end up in jail for assault, as the thing I would want to do first is punch him in the nose.

No. I don't have to accept a call from the president. In most cases, I probably would, as most people consider it an honor, but if Trump called, I would say to fuck off, as I don't like to talk to people I know are idiots.

Exactly, the last time I checked there is no criminal statute covering a requirement to take calls from POTUS.

you can't pardon anybody BEFORE a charge has been brought. Pardons are specific that way.
Yes he can and no they're not. You should read this. It's amazing but true.

WASHINGTON — Speculation that President Donald Trump might issue pardons before he leaves office for members of his family or other supporters raises a question about whether pardons can be issued pre-emptively — that is, before someone is charged with a crime.

And the answer is undoubtedly yes.

You are very correct.

ford pardoned nixon when he became president. There were no charges filed against nixon.

george bush the first pardoned casper weinberger during the Iran contra investigation. weinberger wasn't charged with anything. The pardon stopped the whole investigation and we never found out the truth of Iran contra.

Per O.C.G.A. 16-11-66, you can record a telephone conversation in Georgia if you are a party to the conversation (on the phone). The recording will typically be admissible evidence at any hearing or trial.

Now that you read them the statute making the recording legal, do you think that will stop them from calling the recording illegal?

You're kidding - Right? ;)

I wonder who recorded Trump's rant and who leaked it. I'm glad they did, don't get me wrong. But some people seem to be pretty fed up with Trump and his antics
Getting a phone call from the president of the united states. That's something to hold onto.

The white house office usually establishes such phone calls well in advance of the president getting on the line. So it gives them plenty of time to get everything ready. Even if all it takes is hitting "record" on the answering machine.
