Washington Post audio of Trump berating and threatening Georgia Secretary of State for not "finding" votes to change election result. Sedition?

He is trying to strong arm Georgia because they have Republican leadership

In Trumps world, Party loyalty has precedence over the US Constitution

Trump has a very loyal but non-majority voting base. If he tell them to vote for somebody, they'll vote for them. If he tells them not to vote for somebody, they won't.

That's a pretty intimidating thought, when a republican realizes he could lose half of the republican vote, and cost him a chance at election.

President Trump urged fellow Republican Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state, to “find” enough votes to overturn his defeat in an extraordinary one-hour phone call Saturday that election experts said raised legal questions.

The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”

Throughout the call, Raffensperger and his office’s general counsel rejected Trump’s assertions, explaining that the president is relying on debunked conspiracy theories and that President-elect Joe Biden’s 11,779-vote victory in Georgia was fair and accurate.

Trump is engaging of sedition and overturning the will of the people through fraud.

Trump should be arrested for sedition for attempting to overthrow the newly elected government of the United States of America.

Everything Trump touches dies.

Is American democracy next?
america isnt a democracy you stupid fuck,,,
Dumbfuck, Georgia is a democracy and Impeached Trump threatened Georgia's Secretary of State with "vague criminal consequences" to "find" enough votes to overturn the will of Georgia's voters.

OH tell me more,,,
Don't need to as I already bitch-slapped you into reality.
I dont feel bitch slapped,,
So? You prolly also don't feel stupid.
why would I???

we are a republic not a democracy,,, and that includes the states,,
Because you are, as you demonstrate yet again. Again, Georgia, just as every other state, is a democracy.

b: a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections
you do realize that proves me right dont you??
LOLOLOL

Only if you believe Georgians don't elect Georgia's state legislature -- which apparently, you don't believe. :ack-1:
I have to ask,, why didnt you put the definition of a republic up so we can compare the two??
I didn't have to since Georgia's form of government fits the definition of a "democracy."
no it doesnt,,,
LOL

Again...

again why didnt you also post the def of a republic so we can compare them side by side??
its almost like youre trying to hide something,,,
Again, that's not my argument. So why would I post something I'm not arguing? My claim is that Georgia, and every one of the individual states, are democracies. And I proved that by posting the definition of a democracy, which absolutely applies to the states. Your inability to comprehend that is not my problem.

Funny how none of you libtards can quote the threat.
LOL

Nah, what's funny is that you're a raging imbecile.

"I think you’re going to find that they are shredding ballots because they have to get rid of the ballots because the ballots are unsigned. The ballots are corrupt, and they’re brand new, and they don’t have seals, and there’s a whole thing with the ballots. But the ballots are corrupt. And you are going to find that they are — which is totally illegal — it is more illegal for you than it is for them because, you know, what they did and you’re not reporting it. That’s a criminal, that’s a criminal offense. And you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer. And that’s a big risk." ~ Impeached Trump
Cool.

Where is the threat, Dumbass?
"That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer." ~ Impeached Trump
Cool.

Where it the threat by EXONERATED TRUMP?
Dumbfuck, that's a threat of "vague criminal consequences." It's not my problem you lack the required intelligence to comprehend that.
It is?

You have quite the imagination.
It is. Telling someone they're at "risk" of committing a "criminal offense," which could result in incarceration, is absolutely a threat of "vague criminal consequences." But don't fret, I don't expect someone of your vacuity to understand that. Just go resume your utopia of snacking on paint chips dipped in mercury.
Odd.

I don't see anything about "incarceration" in the quote you provided.

The fact you continue to make up shit exposes how weak your position is, Moron.

You lose again, Fawnboi. :laughing0301:  :laughing0301:

The call was inappropriate.

The Georgia Sec State should never have agreed to talk to one candidate in the election without including the other candidate.

Trump: Find enough votes until I am elected

You always have to accept a call from the president of the united states. But it was not only wildly inappropriate, but also illegal.

I haven't been keeping track of Trumps lawsuit over the release of the audio tape, but it doesn't look good when they have him on tape asking a state official to "find" aka illegally create, 11,780 votes and certify them for Trump.
Trump was not calling in his role as President, he was calling as a candidate for re-election.

What Trump was asking is keep finding reasons to discard ballots for Biden until you have 11,780 ...Then stop the process and declare me the winner.

Like you said, wildly inappropriate

"A person, including an election official, who in any election for Federal office- knowingly and willfully deprives, defrauds, or attempts to deprive or defraud the residents of a State of a fair and impartially conducted election process,

Why would Trump get jail time for stuff that Dems are doing?

Well
He was impeached for what Biden did.

No, he was impeached for what he and Rudy did.

sounds just like your Russian Collusion bullshit
In other words, you think that this kind of behavior is acceptable, yes? If Biden pulled a shit stunt like this, you would want his balls on a platter.
You have to put America's rightwing into the proper perspective. These are the same freaks who defended Trump when he tossed paper towels to flood victims.

And Democrat liberals who cheered when Pelosi ripped up a STOU speech on camera, and held back aid to suffering American's in this pandemic because she didn't want to give a win to Trump.....You fucking hacks have NO STANDING to call anyone anything!

Pelosi didn't "hold back aid". She passed two bills giving more aid to suffering Americans, and Mitch McConnell wouldn't even take them up, much less negotiate with the House on these deals.

As for ripping up Trump's "STOU" speech, well how terrible!!! How many Americans died because of this egrious action? SHE DISRESPECTED TRUMP!!!!! OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

In other words, how dare we call Trump on his illegal actions, many of which have caused thousands of innocent Americans to die, millions to fall into poverty, and the economy to be destroyed.
Pelosi didn't "hold back aid".

Pelosi's own words prove you are a lying sack of shit.

According to the Post report, Trump told Republican Brad Raffensperger, "So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have.

That, Conway suggested, amounted to election tampering.

the relevant penalties for attempting or proposing fraud.

52 U.S.C § 20511(2)(B): "A person, including an election official, who in any election for Federal office- knowingly and willfully deprives, defrauds, or attempts to deprive or defraud the residents of a State of a fair and impartially conducted election process, by- (A) the procurement or submission of voter registration applications that are known by the person to be materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent under the laws of the State in which the election is held; or
(B) the procurement, casting, or tabulation of ballots that are known by the person to be materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent under the laws of the State in which the election is held, hall be fined in accordance with title 18 (which fines shall be paid into the general fund of the Treasury, miscellaneous receipts (pursuant to section 3302 of title 31), notwithstanding any other law), or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."

And that boys and girls, is not a conspiracy theory. It is not TDS. It is not flaming or trolling. The phone call by Trump actually happened. He actually did ask the Georgia AG to act on his behalf. The federal code really does make it a crime. He really is the President, and was a candidate for reelection. This really is politics.

Which means this post by any measure belongs right here.

You can't be that dumb Skew?

Here is the full quote:

"So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state. There's no way I lost Georgia. There's no way. We won by hundreds of thousands of votes."

Notice the lack of a threat in it? No bribery, no money offer, no blackmail nothing unlawful going on. He never says create bogus votes, just FIND 11,780 votes, which obviously means existing votes in the system he thinks are really his as he say he thinks he won by a few hundred thousand votes.

"You know what you did and you're not reporting it. That's a criminal offense. That's a big risk to you and your lawyer"
.... and you're letting it happen, I'm notifying you that you're letting it happen."

--- "and it's gonna be very costly in many ways..."

THAT'S A THREAT, Dildo.

"So Brad, what are you gonna do"? It would be most unfortunate if you were to wake up some morning....

Then he goes on to declare "they're shredding ballots and removing machinery" ----- AFTER BEING SPECIFICALLY TOLD BY PEOPLE IN A POSITION TO KNOW THAT THOSE ARE *NOT* HAPPENING.

:banghead:

"Full quote" MY ASS.

And then the fucking moron goes on to announce "you have a big election coming up on Tuesday".
He's saying this to THE FUCKING PEOPLE WHO RUN THE ELECTIONS IN THE STATE. Like they wouldn't know they have an election.

CHEESES JUMPIN" CHRIST what the fuck do you NEED?

That quote was NOT in post one article....., so where did you get it?

STRAIGHT OFF THE AUDIO :banghead:

Fer fuxsake it even has SUBTITLES.

Oh it has subtilties, thanks for bringing it up as I am DEAF, which is why I didn't bother with the taped call.

Ok now I watched the 4:31 portion, it is clear Trump is full of shit, but he didn't break any laws in the conversation, and that the Secretary didn't get upset at any time, he says he and his people stand by their decision and have faithfully done their job.

Republican Brad Raffensperger never complained about the conversation as being illegal or threatening.

Here is his response to a Trump tweet:

I suggest you park your partisan silliness on this.

This is how uninformed you are.

The SOS of Georgia won't do the investigating because he believes it's a conflict of interest so he has handed it over to an Atlanta district attorney for investigation.

From what I read in the following article, yes he most certainly believes trump committed a crime.

Here's some very good advice, stop getting your news from far right sources. They aren't giving you the truth.

Did they mention what crime, specifically?

It can't be too comfortable to tell the President that he's full of shit:
Or that he and Brian Kemp are stealing Trump blind. He's busy stealing votes from Trump while
Trump is asking him to find some.

Raffensperger and Kemp are two rino republicans who sunk millions into Dominion vote stealing machines
for the entire state who should actually be in jail for election fraud, of which there is much in Georgia.

It's a hoot that all you folks crying over the past two months over election irregularities can't present anything but innuendo and then when it hits you in your face you're in denial. Tell us, in all the manual recounts of paper ballots conducted where did they come up with a descrepancy caused by those Dominion voting machines?
It's a hoot how your idiot-mesmerizing press omits facts that support President Trump but plan, edit, and publish lying lies that Demmies rejoice in that were actually the sins of the Clinton war room, George Soros, and rich tricksters who cheated other people out of their intellectual properties, then turned around making billions off someone else's brain trust, and if it feels good it's a drug for gullible people who fall for lies that will bury the Constitution in commie hands. Commies make laws that lead to mass murders of peaceful dissenters. Its proponents don't want even a whisper of opposition, by any means possible including slavery, justice only for themselves, death to dissenters.

Too lazy to move to a real communist society, today's communists prefer telling sweet nothings and cheating at the polls by insider deep state operators with preplanned silencers of the truth. With support of the ignorant and preaching Alinskies tried and true methods, they fool most of the people most of the time usurping thespian tricks to make cheap mush seem like caviar to the unchary.

Trump is determined to overthrow the election.

He already won. Democrats used every surreptitious trick in the book to steal it for Mother Communista. It takes time and patience to peel the onion. Trump fought every lie the Demonrats hurled at him. He is not breaking any laws going after the truth, and I support him and hope he beats the thugs of the left seeking raw revenge for criminal masterminds Rodham Clinton, Hussein Obama, Maxugly StalkingWaters, Upchuck Shoekickmer, Cheapshot Piglosi, Jarrold-Adam Des Asters, Extortion Joe Bidingtime, et al Demonrat press propaganda specialists.

Trump is handicapped because he is stupid and criminal.
He lost. Please find another scapegoat for your issues. This is getting old and tiresome. Thank you.

Once again, Trump has shot himself in the foot in his attempt to steal the election.

Firstly, the tape questions the process of Georgia election days before the Senate election

Secondly, it provides Democrats with ammunition to use against Republicans in the certification of Electoral Votes. It is embarrassing to Republicans who claim fraud.

There is nothing illegal here.... dumb? yes. Heresay? yes
WIth all of this - obviously what is being ignored is we have two state officials who recorded a conversation with the President so they could give or sell it to the media.
It wasn't leaked. It was provided.
Is that illegal?
Have you looked at Georgia and Federal laws related to it?

If a democratic president had done what he did, would you be defending the Democratic president that lost his second term, for the same actions as Trump has done?
Yep. I would. You will never find one post from me discussing impeaching Obama. I thought the WJC impeachment was stupid too. Trump is done in less than three weeks. Who will you blame for all your ills then? Scapegoat will be long gone. Issues will still be here.

Trump is a criminal. Do we accept that?
In America you're innocent until you're proven guilty. Do we still accept that?
Only in court. If you did it, you are guilty whether it can be proved or not.
I guess you live in a different version of America than I do since here the courts determine guilt and or innocence.

Trump begs Georgia secretary of state to overturn election results in remarkable hourlong phone call (nbcnews.com)

Full tape, no pay wall.

Some of ya'll need to listen to the whole thing with some discernment. Yes, he did say those words and many more besides but full context is everything.
Thanks for that. You are right, there is context there. However, all of Trump's 'evidence' is nothing but his feelings. Again and again, the lady from Georgia is asking him to send through the information they have, and at one stage he said that 'it is unnecessary'. Really? We should just believe him.

One of his things is that people from out of state voted. And when it is explained to him that some of those people moved out of Georgia and then moved back again - over a period of years - he gets condescending, like 'as if people do that'. Well, yeah, Donald, people move back and forth all the time.

However the biggest lack of evidence for mine, is not just with Georgia, but all the other states (funnily only the battleground ones he lost), he talks of thousands of people turning up to vote but being told they can't because they have voted already. Apparently those people are really pissed off. Only problem is, I haven't seen one person interviewed who said that has happened to them, let alone the 20,000 that Donald said.

Also, he said 4,000 dead people voted. Georgia found two. I could go on.

Trump is nuts.

And yet you skipped the parts that they all agreed there were large discrepancies in the vote counts that totaled more than the number needed to win and they weren't doing all they could or should do to ensure the integrity of their system or results. Trump did say a few times that he just wanted to know the truth and was asking them to investigate it and they did say they would look into it.

Trump did not threaten anyone to make them give him the needed votes.....like the media has spun it

Can you point out - like give the time stamp - where they agreed there were discrepancies.

They said several times that his information was wrong. He might have said he wanted the truth, but he was also TELLING (not ASKING) the folks in Georgia that they were wrong and he won the state...period.
Trying to be funny? Or do you have a better tape with time stamps, that can be paused or searched thru?? I'd venture a guess somewhere between 1/2 & 3/4 of the way thru, maybe? But I'm not going to listen thru the whole tape again just to prove your bias

Thanks but I don't want or need anyone else's opinion. I'd rather listen to the tape myself and form my own opinion on the matter.....which I have.

Have you?

Yes.....I have listened to the tape.

the full one hour tape??? Or just the media excerpts?

The whole hour. Trump is disgusting. He's repeating himself and browbeating them.

Yes, he's browbeating. And yes, his "facts" are wrong, but that's not illegal. I don't get the 'let's compromise' part suggested by Trump's team. It makes no sense in this situation. 'ummm...recalculating' the vote to give Trump the win does sound shady, but in context of Trump's arguments, he'll never be prosecuted. The man lives in an impermeable bubble where it makes perfect sense for Raffensperger to agree they counted illegal votes, and all he needs to do is admit a few of them--11,799 to be exact.

Now, whoever gave this recording to the press felt Trump was way out of line, or they wouldn't have shared it. They definitely felt they were being strong armed. Probably the threat of criminal prosecution was the final straw, although who Trump thinks would prosecute this is a mystery. They know better.

I wonder if Raffensperger is sorry, yet, that he voted for Trump. What do you all think?

I would NEVER talk with Trump without two witnesses and a recorder. I think Raffensperger and Kemp hate Trump. Most people do.

Abuse of office may apply.

Abuse of authority | legal definition of Abuse of ...
Abuse of authority means any act, conduct or decision which is outside the scope of the alleged violator's position, scope of duties, or level of authority as authorized by the designee. But isn't that a civil violation? When during the impeachment the House settled on abuse of power, they gave up trying for any criminal charges. Meaning, it's rotten but not criminal.

What law?

Be specific.
Cool. Now quote what Trump said in the call to violate that code.

Where is the threat? Be specific.

The threat of a lawsuit if they didn't overturn a free and fair election which had endlessly been investigated and in the end - certified. That's a threat.

Nah, you would have to show a pattern and someone on the other end of the "implicit" corrupt influence actually committing crimes. As i understand it.

Nope. Asking someone to commit a crime on your behalf is a crime - Whether they follow through with your request or not.

These are the same people who like to say Hillary Clinton has never done anything wrong.
It's laughable

Trump was not calling in his role as President, he was calling as a candidate for re-election.

What Trump was asking is keep finding reasons to discard ballots for Biden until you have 11,780 ...Then stop the process and declare me the winner.

Like you said, wildly inappropriate

Actually that's even worse. Using your elected office for personal gain.

LOLOL

Are you ever not a dumbfuck? Ever???

I mean exactly how retarded are you to not know that committing crime produces a risk of incarceration?? :ack-1:

LINK

I suggest you park your partisan silliness on this.

This is how uninformed you are.

The SOS of Georgia won't do the investigating because he believes it's a conflict of interest so he has handed it over to an Atlanta district attorney for investigation.

From what I read in the following article, yes he most certainly believes trump committed a crime.

Here's some very good advice, stop getting your news from far right sources. They aren't giving you the truth.

From your link...

“The evidence of election fraud by Mr. Trump is now in broad daylight. The prima facie elements of the above crimes have been met,” they wrote. “Given the more than ample factual predicate, we are making a criminal referral to you to open an investigation into Mr. Trump.”
