To your last point, the left’s insistence of bringing in as many low-level, semi-literate foreigners as possible was indeed for votes - but not the way people think. It wasn’t to eventually get these illegal aliens to become voters, but to get as many current citizens dependent on government handouts - and thus reliable Democrat voters - and then illegal aliens do the actual jobs.

I actually think the 20 hours a week requirement is too low. That could apply if you are the parent of school children. But why should a 30-year-old guy with no kids not be required to work a full-time job before other people pitch in with his support?

Remember how trump got a doctor to sign off on him having " bone spurs " to keep him out of the service during the Vietnam War.
