Walmart Says It's Raising Prices Because of Trump's Tariffs

Fuck off yourself.

My phone is a Samsung and was made in South Korea.

My PC is an HP desktop and was probably made in China or India. The design was done in the US.

My next PC will definitely be made in not-China because Chinese crap is too expensive now.

I got a Ryzen computer instead of Intel, cheaper and probably Chinese

Inflation was the enevitable cause of too much money chasing too few products. Tariffs are a self inflicted tax shit brains.
To think that requires one of two things, or both -
1) A low IQ unable to grasp beyond the simplest terms.
2) Just hates Trump, no matter what he does you hate it.

Are you just #1 or just #2 - or both?

And raising the prices is going to fix all of this? Fucking seriously?

/-------/ Yes, Einstein. Don't you follow the news? As a result, China has come to the bargaining table, and we're reaching a deal. Tariffs have already come down.

Index of activity drops to lowest reading since December 2023 as a result of ‘sharp changes’ in international trading

China’s factory activity slowed in April, with Beijing blaming “sharp changes” in the global economy as it fights a widening trade war with the US.

Punishing tariffs introduced by Donald Trump that reached 145% on many Chinese products came into force in April, and Beijing responded with 125% duties on imports from the US. Chinese exports soared more than 12% last month as businesses rushed to get ahead of the punishing tariffs.

The impact of the measures began to show in official data on Wednesday, with the purchasing managers’ index – a key measure of industrial output – falling to 49.0 in April, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, the lowest reading since December 2023. Anything below the 50-point mark signifies a contraction.

So I was correct. This is what I said: Currently, China’s tariffs are higher on our products and our tariffs are higher on their products.

You said I didn't know what's going on.

Turns out I knew exactly what's going on.

Why do you think higher tariffs on both sides makes us better off?

We have a net gain.

Wait until negotiations are complete. We will have a net gain and they will be lower on both sides. You will see. Have your excuses ready.

"India Bows to Trump, Accepts All U.S. Trade Conditions and Tariffs

India has sided with the United States (US) President Donald Trump on the trade war with Xi Jinping of China. Reports indicate that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is ready to accept all conditions of the US in a trade deal.

Trump raised tariffs on most Chinese imports to 145%, citing the need to reduce the trade deficit and encourage domestic manufacturing.

In retaliation, China has imposed 125% tariffs on US goods and implemented non-tariff barriers, including export controls on critical rare-earth elements.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Trump in the White House in February 2025."

You frequently use vague terms and broad assertions. You don’t like being specific.

What do you mean by “net gain”? What is the goal?

/----/ Stop playing stupid.
A "net gain" refers to the overall positive result or profit after all costs and expenses have been deducted. It's the amount remaining after subtracting any losses or deductions from an initial amount or calculation. In essence, it represents the final, positive outcome of a transaction, investment, or situation.

The goal is a level playing field that both China and the US benefit.

You don’t know what net means? Look at the numbers again and tell me why it is not better for US exports to be tariffed less than Chinese imports. That is what is occurring now. Ultimately, the numbers will come down, but I would be willing to bet you that China will not be tariffing our exports at a higher rate than their imports. That is exactly what was happening prior to liberation day.

I’m asking what you mean by “gain” which is ambiguous.

Are we gaining economically?

No, you just care about the rates. It’s very simplistic.

Yes, we will be gaining economically. More of our goods will be bought in foreign countries as the prices become more competitive due to lower tariffs. When more of our goods are sold, our economy is boosted.

But as stated earlier, our goods are being tariffed at HIGHER rates in China than before this all started.

So economically, we are losing.

Yes, currently. Patience. Just like when you were doom and gloom a few weeks ago and I told you to watch the markets. It is becoming harder and harder to take anything you people say seriously. Everything is a knee jerk reaction to bash Trump without so much as a thought to look to the end game.

You ready for my next stock pick? Maybe I can get lucky again.

Rolling Stone

Walmart, the largest retailer in the nation, has announced it is raising prices because of President Donald Trump's tariffs.

The retail giant said on Thursday that it may absorb some of the import taxes, but it is still raising prices to offset increased costs resulting from Trump's ill-advised trade war.

Where are the illegals going to shop now?

Now, you loons said the tariffs were going to raise inflation and cause havoc. But the opposite has happened.

They just spew whatever they are told by the media, which have become nothing but shock jocks. They even know the media lied to them regarding Joe’s health and yet they still hang on every word they say.
