Walmart Says It's Raising Prices Because of Trump's Tariffs

/---/ 1citygator is goona have to work extra hours at McDs so he can buy his cheap China crap from Walmart.
I’m glad you are for the working American when it’s convenient. You already know Trump’s policies benefit me greatly as a top earner. It’s you working stiffs who are fucked.

You're a snob, and a great encapsulation of why the Democrats are out wandering the desert now.

No one but no one deserves it more.

/---/ Ahhh, you never forgot the little people as you climbed the ladder of success. How touching.

I think you misunderstand me, I’m just the opposite. I’m trying to illustrate the tie between Walmarts rising prices and Trump‘s irrational insane tariffs and trade war
/—-/ The tariffs are working and you can’t stand it. You pray to Satan that Trump fails.

Rolling Stone

Walmart, the largest retailer in the nation, has announced it is raising prices because of President Donald Trump's tariffs.

The retail giant said on Thursday that it may absorb some of the import taxes, but it is still raising prices to offset increased costs resulting from Trump's ill-advised trade war.

Clever business move.

Point is -- How much is Walmart raising prices?

A lot of companies flooded China with orders BEFORE Trump hit them with Tariffs and then didn't bother to order anything during the actual Trade War when he had 130% Tariffs on them.

A likely scenario is this..... Hoo Flung Poo sells Rubber Duckies to Wally World for $100. Wally World has them Direct Shipped (Direct buying) so there's not really a middle man. Wally World wants a 50% Gross Profit Margin on them, so they sell them for $200.

All that has changed since OMB put a 30% tariff on everything. So HFP sells them to WW for $95 and WW decides they can live with a 45% GPM and lists them for $211.

Which works out to just over a 5% Price Increase. Whoopi-Freaking-Doopie. Nobody is really unhappy. Except for the DISGUSTING FILTH. Who are more stupid than unhappy

Journalism in this Country is dead, Its practitioners are just simply too stupid.

Why would they settle for 45%?

If every last store marked up their prices 200 percent, nothing would change nor would the economy be affected.

So are taxes, something you loons want to raise every year. Oh, and you don't have to buy a cheap China product. You can buy American and get no tariffs.

/—-/ I can understand Putin buying a broke ass democRAT, but Trump is worth $6-$8 billion and can’t be bought, you slimeball.
We do not know how much money Trump has. We know how Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos earned their money. What did Trump sell that was so significant? He may be badly in debt to Russia.

/----/ If you could only put your seething TDS on pause for 5 seconds, you could answer your own baseless question.

Everyone has an opinion, but Forbes has the answer: $5.1 billion, according to our most recent tally, updated in March. It’s quite a comeback for the former president, who more than doubled his net worth in a year, taking advantage of his diehard following. First, Trump sold shares of his money-losing social-media platform, leaving him with a stake worth about as much of all his real estate combined. Then, he pushed his crypto offerings, which added hundreds of millions in liquidity. It pays to be king.

‘Trump said on Saturday that Walmart (WMT.N) should "eat the tariffs" instead of blaming duties imposed on imported goods for the retailer's increase prices.’

Walmart needs to tell Trump to go pound sand.

If Trump is worried about price increases, he needs to scrap his meritless, idiotic tariff scheme.
Trump is entitled to criticize Walmart for raising prices

Legally they have that right but it wont endear them to their customer base

So good on trump for calling them out

Trunmp cut their corporste.taxes and these China-First "innovators" stick it to their country. A nice boycott would be better. If I were in America looking to start a business I would create a Made in america franchise and only sell inventory made domestically. Promote it as high quality products and mock the big box stores who use slave labour.
