7-Eleven has a rule that when the cash in the drawer exceeds $20, they must put it in the lockbox. They have signs stating this policy. Everyone knows about it.
This cuts down robberies.
This is MUCH better than depending on some hair-trigger local yahoo blasting away at bad guys and taking out soccer moms and toddlers in the process.
Because that is what happens. Criminals don’t shoot anyone who is cooperating but those law abiding citizens are always shooting toddlers and soccer moms.
Your hyperbole does not illustrate any point whatsoever. Instead it is a worthless analogy for gun fearing fantasies. The reality is much simpler – people use guns to protect themselves all the time and the vast majority of those don’t involve anyone getting shot at all. The majority of shootouts are between rival criminals and the majority of the remainders are innocent and HELPLESS vics of criminals.
Not many criminals want to get into a gun fight – there is no way they can win.
