Voters choose new Virginia congressman Tuesday in special election

Of course not. That’s why we are doomed.
We'll be fine I think/hope.

When I say it has become more Democratic that is to say majority or mob rule. It’s not an attack on a party.
We have become more democratic (lower case 'd') only because voting has been expanded to Blacks and women. We are still being ruled by undemocratic, gerrymandered elections and archaic voting rules.

No to both. We won’t be fine and the root cause of our problem is selfishness. It’s only a matter of time before the dollar gets debauched and we all get to share in suffering. Of course there’s a good chance they will gen up a war before that. Which will be a different kind of suffering. Either way we will have earned it.

I hope you're right that your vote will count. Here in New Mexico we never know. Which is why the Patriots here are all pulling for Congress and the President to make all the necessary election reforms to restore confidence in our elections.

But wouldn't it be great if the people of Virginia did something good for the USA and didn't elect another Democrat who will fight against anything good being done for America and Americans?
LOL, when I lived in NM in the 60s you could depend on the elections---any candidate named Lujan or with a D after their names.

It's still pretty much that way. Especially now after the Democrats gerrymandered the districts, federal and state, to ensure that a Republican can't be elected to anything important anymore.

The thing that has amazed/frustrated/whatever me in this state is in how many close elections they've been able to find that stray ballot box that was 'overlooked' and contained just enough votes to put the Democrat over the top. But no, no fraud in this state. Nothing to see here. Just accept the count and move on.

So, New Mexico has never had a GOP controlled legislature at any time in its entire state history. Roughly 50% of NM's population is in this Albuquerque metro area, but yesterday the GOP challenger wasn't on top but had a strong showing in the mayoral, election. Since neither he nor the Democrat incumbent got 50% of the vote, there will be a runoff in December. The chances of the GOP candidate prevailing in the runoff election are slim to none, given the situation here, but hope springs eternal.
