If I am forced to cast a provisional ballot next month there will be hell to pay. This is nothing but a blatant attempt at suppressing votes.

That happened to me once during the 1990's in a local election to modify the mayor's term from 2 years to 4. At my polling place my name wasn't listed. I showed them letter I received notifying where to vote but all they could do was to have me cast a provisional ballot. A few months later I received letter of apology stating that my vote "should" have been counted.

When vote-by-mail was instituted wide-scale I jumped on it to avoid any last-minute surprise. I have my completed ballot in the mail well ahead of time and then go on-line a few days later to see if it has been verified. No way do I share the mindset of the election-day voters that trust the competency of government workers and their powerless volunteers manning the election day poll sites.

Got the above letter in the mail yesterday. What a bunch of horseshit. The claim is that some information is not matching, I call bullshit. I have voted in every single election, every single primary, since 1980. I have only had two addresses in 45 years. Social Security number and Drivers License number have been the same since that first registration. Yes, I vote early, and yes, I vote Democrat. That seems to be the problem.

So, I get on it. I go to the DMV website, attempt to update my voter registration. Service not available. Then I attempt to get there through other links and manage to get through. Everything matched, but I updated anyway and then I get a message. Any updates done less than 25 days before an election will not be processed till after the election. The primary is 21 days out, 22 if you count yesterday.
