both child and parent(s)? well good, that is how it should work here like it does in other countriesThe bolded part is not true. They can and have been deported. Biden didn't but he's no longer the sheriff.

The child can stay if the parents give up custody like to a relative that is here legally. Under the current interpretation of the 14th Amendment, the child is a US citizen and cannot involuntarily be deported except with the parents, but they do not lose their citizenship.both child and parent(s)? well good, that is how it should work here like it does in other countries
That is the problem, should not matter if they have legal relatives, the parent was illegal thus the child entered this country illegal before it was bornThe child can stay if the parents give up custody like to a relative that is here legally. No, that is not the problem, because that is the law. The child is not illegal if born here. You want it differently, you have to change the Constitution. That is what I expect SCOTUS to say. That is the problem, should not matter if they have legal relatives, the parent was illegal thus the child entered this country illegal before it was born
the child should not have citizenship to lose, they should never have it in the first place
deport, apply later the right way if they want to live in our country
not mean, same with many countries, we are just too damn lenient to invaders
17% of the population now is latino, more than doubled the past 20 years because of this clause
black population is rather flat, they can't walk across the Atlantic ocean
You were not taught that. You are dead wrong. From what I was taught in school...........
If immigrants that have moved here have been certified as new citizens of the USA, then yes, their baby is a born American.
If they are NOT certified as citizens of the USA, then no, they are not USA citizens.
The 14th was written with SLAVES in mind, not people from South AmericaNo, that is not the problem, because that is the law. The child is not illegal if born here. You want it differently, you have to change the Constitution. That is what I expect SCOTUS to say.
Thank you for the irrelevant history lesson, but that is my undergraduate degree. I also taught for 21 years. The 14th was written with SLAVES in mind, not people from South America
you know, slaves that were bought here, were NOT US citizens but property
14th say their children can stay and not get send back to Africa
after the 13th 4M slaves in the south and they did not want to give them citizenship
There were not people walking across our border like today
it should have been amended for the times but no way D and R will ever get the votes
this it remains a loophole for illegals
You apparently are pro illegal by your defense
NO, if they are US citizens they are, illegals are NOT US citizen apparently you have a tough time figuring that out Do you know many countries it's illegal to have a child in their country if you are illegal? you can be arrested and deported fast, the way it should be the USA should not be a welfare country for other people
It depends on the parentage. If neither of the parents is a U.S. citizen, then no. I'm hearing things like the Chinese are bringing pregnant woman to the US, letting them abuse our medical system by having the baby without paying, and then taking the baby back to China to be raised as Communist, with the goal of these children returning to sway votes in our elections. Let's hope that if that is the case, the information makes it to the SCOTUS. The left are masters at hiding information.

the 14the was created a year after the 13th for the only main reason.......slavesThank you for the irrelevant history lesson, but that is my undergraduate degree. I also taught for 21 years.
I am not pro-illegal, whatever the **** that means. I am pro-"read what the Constitution says, other than what you think it says just because you don't like illegals". Besides, SCOTUS will decide and your opinion matters not.
Irrelevant BS. What does the text say? Not what you think it was meant to say.the 14the was created a year after the 13th for the only main reason.......slaves
south did not want to make them citizens, there were many who wanted them sent back home
Lincoln actually wanted to send them to liberia
the 14 stated the USG can't because they are US citizens
1866 we had no border but likely did not have mexicans flooded the SE even though
there were many there naturally
It's outdated......should have been amended but 3/4 of states and congress.....fat chance of that
certainly not now
so illegals use that loophole to invade, breed......we allow it, we even help them with food stamps, welfare
The simple legal interpretation of the words make birth under US jurisdiction automatic citizens of the US.New poll up.

No is currently at 74%.
There is no such thing as an anchor baby loophole. I believe as more people look at the nuts and bolts of the 14th Amendment they are seeing that it does not allow foreigner's kids born on US soil automatic citizenship.
.
Does the 14th say anything about illegals crossing our borders? NOPEIrrelevant BS. What does the text say? Not what you think it was meant to say.
The argument is on what the 14th Amendment says and everything else is just opinons.
