He was a brave man and a loyal man to God.
Can't question his loyalty to God, but his actions were foolish and he ended up dead behind them.

I agree with Superbad. This is one of the few times he's dead on right, and the pastor of that Church was wrong.
You don't put G-d to the test. You don't go handling snakes, because G-d can heal you. Yes G-d can heal you, but putting G-d to the test, like he's a genie in a magic lamp, that if you rub it and act right, he'll grant your wish..... No. You do not test G-d like that.
When there is an epidemic, you act wisely, and follow wise instruction.
The entire book of Proverbs says over and over, act wisely, seek wisdom, be smart, because it will save your life.
This pastor intentionally tempted risk, and died for it. That's on him.
