Statements like this is the reason discord within Christianity exists and the reason dislike of "Christians" by non Christians manifests itself within our current world.
Although you may have good intentions and you are simply stating what you "believe" - your message is a misguided interpretation of Scripture.
Neither Republicans or Democrats follow Scripture word for word - and if either party claims to do so, they are sadly mistaken. To state, "You need to vote for this party or that party - and then go on to state that you must do so because of an Abrahamic Religion is breaking the 2nd Commandment -
You are "Idolizing" a political party.
Matthew 22:
15
God or Caesar.[d] Then the Pharisees went off and made plans to trap him in what he said. 16 They sent some of their disciples to him, along with the Herodians,[
e] and said, “Teacher, we know that you are truthful and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Nor are you concerned with anyone’s opinion for you do not care about people’s opinions. 17 Tell us then what you think about this: Is it lawful or not for us to pay taxes to Caesar?”
18 Jesus was aware of their malicious intent, and he said, “You hypocrites! Why are you trying to trap me? 19
Show me the coin that is used for paying the tax.” When they brought him a denarius,[f] 20 he asked them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?” 21 They replied, “Caesar’s.” On hearing this, he said to them, “Give to Caesar what is due to Caesar, and to God what is due to God.”[g] 22 Stunned on hearing this reply, they went away and left him alone.
That said, it is fine for someone to vote for a certain party based on their faith and understanding - people can only do the best they can. What isn't "ok"
in my humble opinion, is to persecute others, basing it on one's interpretation of their faith.
Matthew 7:
Do Not Judge.[a] 1 “Do not judge, so that you in turn may not be judged. 2 For you will be judged in the same way that you judge others, and the measure that you use for others will be used to measure you.
3 “Why do you take note of the splinter in your brother’s eye but do not notice the wooden plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while all the time the wooden plank remains in your own? 5 You hypocrite! First remove the wooden plank from your own eye, and then you will be able to see clearly enough to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.
