Ironically social media especially Twitter has made it much harder to tie Republican candidates to Trump when they banned him. The left clearly wanted to do this in Virginia but Trump not having Twitter to put his every opinion out there on and not going to the state made that much much harder to do. The tech giants might have accidentally helped Republicans more than they know by banning Trump from their platforms.
