...why on Allah's green earth Iran would want to be enriching uranium? Does anyone believe that they want to help save the planet by building a nuclear power plant, when they sit on an ocean of free carbon fuel?

It seems to me that there is only one reason why they would want to be enriching uranium: to make nuclear weapons.

So when Our Beloved President, and our Secretary of State indicate that no enrichment will be permitted in any negotiated deal with Iran, it seems obvious that this is an unequivocal position, not subject to compromise. But apparently this is not the case...

There is no "ocean of free carbon fuel", there is not more than 50 years worth of oil left.
There is a lot of coal, but very little oil.

All countries have to start producing nuclear energy.
