Virginia faces a government shutdown if the Democrat-controlled General Assembly fails to pass a budget by June 30, the Virginia Mercury reported. Data center policies may be the dividing line.

“I think there is a component of Democrats that see data centers as a lifeline to the energy industry and they hate that,” Power The Future Executive Director Daniel Turner told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Virginia’s House of Delegates released a budget proposal that would study data centers’ long-term effects on the commonwealth while preserving their exemption from the 5.3% sales tax, the Mercury reported.

Never mind the 150% pay increase they want to give themselves.

Oh, and looky here, I thought only the gop made "blue-ribbon panels" composed of the very people from the industry most likely to benefit from their decisions.

The Virginians living right outside D. C. usually have government jobs and good education and they`re "woke" to boot. Rural Virginians, not so much. It takes at least 6 of them to make a full set of teeth. I can`t claim that it`s any different here in Pa. 30 miles out of the city, you might see Squirrel on the menus.

I`m 20 miles north of Pittsburgh and another 10 miles would put me in squirrel eating country. A fellow did bring some marinated meat to work one day and asked us to try it. It was groundhog and it was excellent. No, it doesn`t taste like chicken, but it could pass for beef. I`ll just say no to cats, like Nancy Reagan told us to just say no to drugs.
