Exactly like our current adventures in Iraq and Afghanistan. We "won" in order to lose thanks to leadership that got us into things and places we didn't belong.
However, when one looks back, could things have been worse?
Somalia is an example. We stuck our toe in, got whipped, ran, and left a place with no government or order that is creating hell throughout eastern Africa and the oceans nearby.
The same thing is happening all over the continent and I have a gut feeling our leaders are going to get us involved in that swamp too.

Because you're a retired Soldier, you have a difficult time letting go. I was in healthcare for 16 years. During my last hospitalization, I tried to get up and help with a cardiac arrest, which was announced over the entire hospital 4 times. It was next door, and I wanted/tried to get up and help.
You probably have the same feeling. You feel like you, or your fellow Soldiers should be doing something....anything. Is that accurate?
