My computer audio is out, but the 30-second commercial was clear: It wanted certain folks to know that Vaseline is friendly toward them and supports their desire for equity.
All companies want people to patronize them. So those companies target certain audiences.
For a long time, certain folks felt that they were not welcome. Well, if a hotel, say, shows those folks having a great time at that hotel, they will get the message and become paying guests.
As the saying goes, the only color that matters is GREEN.
When a company decides to pander to a very small segment of society, an extremely racist, extremely violent segment, they can be sure that they will alienate their brand from those at the other end of the spectrum. No Vaseline products are allowed in my homes...EVER.
I guess that company executives have to take into consideration whom they are going to please and whom they are going to offend.
