You think Republicans will bypass Vance? When was the last time a sitting VP wasn't nominated?

You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't see you changing anyone's mind that Vance is the VP and heir apparent unless he screws up big time. History says you are wrong.
Eisenhower's VP was Nixon, who became President. Kennedy's VP was Johnson, who became President, Johnson's VP was Humphrey who ran and lost. Nixon's VP's never ran because Ford replaced him. Ford's VP was Dole, and he ran and lost. Carter's VP was Mondale and he ran and lost epically. Reagan's VP was GHWB and he was President Clinton's VP was Gore, and he ran and lost in 2000. Obama's VP was Brandon and he stole the election in 2020. Brandon's VP was Harris. Did she win when appointed as the nominee? All other VPs in recent years have not even bothered to run or never made it past the primaries, like Pence.

DeSantis will likely replace Rubio as SoS when he becomes VP.

I'm a fan of Mike Pompeo. Trump is not a fan. With his resume' I'd think he would be a good SecWar, or DHS, or CIA (again).

You are correct. But "big picture" I'd like to see Rubio as "governor" of Cuba to get that country "assimilated".

Both of them are a joke really. Neither one of them is relatable. Rubio hasn't lightened up since his Watergate incident. Vance is worse. Can't even order a dozen donuts without being awkward. Went to Pakistan, didn't even stay the night. Flew right home. But not before costing Orban his job in Hungary. Came home to an empty arena. He's no Trump. Not that Trump succeeded either. It's not on lil Marco or lil Vance to fix what Trump broke. The buck stops with Trump right? Not Biden.

But there may be a “shadow campaign” for the nomination between Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who has recently been handed several high-profile assignments, including a meeting with Pope Leo XIV.

Clearly, there are a lot of people who would like to see Marco Rubio run.

Vance is still an incredibly well-known figure. He is much more popular with the base and would likely attract significant donor money

I don’t believe either one of them will be the VP on the ticket. My guess is Rubio will be the next president.

Vance is extremely intelligent and well spoken, Dems would be wishing they had Trump back if Vance becomes president. Vance will mop the floor with those idiots.

Rubio has been gaining valuable experience as SOS but he's got baggage from his Senate days and prior presidential runs. Democrats will have a field day if Rubio is the nominee. He would do a great job, IF he could make it to the big chair but I think Democrats have his number.

Bottom line, Vance would utterly destroy every Democrat that dared get in his way and body slam their media hacks. Vance is like Trump only 3x more dangerous to Democrats.

I'll be honest. You need moderates and independents to believe that the next guy would never take us to war with Iran. I don't think either of these guys would have done that. They are sane Republicans. They may be sellouts and I won't vote for them but I believe they are no worse than Bush who btw also lied us into a war and possibly stole 2000 the same way Trump tried to in 2020.
