You're right, it does reduce severity of the illness, but it also prevents most people from getting COVID in the first place. It's not an either/or situation.

Agree, on the point of the rest of the world being unvaccinated. And yes, it's a problem that we are grappling with. Some people want the US to fund vaccination programs in the entire world. Ambitious? Yes. But it would benefit us too.

Our therapeutics are okay. They're not as effective as the vaccine and they're WAY more expensive and more difficult to get to the patient on time. Relying on therapeutics is a good backup plan, but the vaccine is plan A.

why is there such a visceral reaction to Ivermectin? It's well known that it has antibacterial and antiviral properties and is used against other RNA viruses (Zika, Dengue and Yellow Fever). It's safe it's been around for 40 years and has had 4 billion doses administered so why exactly do people get so angry about it?

How can you not see how illogical and unscientific it is to deploy a narrowly focused vaccine in the middle of a pandemic when variants already exist and to large swaths of the population but not the entire population? Can you really not see how that is a problem? Seriously. If we had enough vaccines and the ability to deploy them to the entire population (or even 75%) of the planet then maybe it would make sense. But we are going to vaccinate, 35-40% maybe? We are going to create a more infectious version of this virus. Also how are your sceptic alarms not going off the "experts" are writing off natural immunity, and things like Vit D, C and Zinc? Im truly baffled by the willingness of people to continue to swallow what these guys say after they have not only been wrong over and over but have outright lied.

That binding site can't just change on a whim. If it does, it loses efficacy.

There's a thing called neutralizing antibodies. They prevent the viral particles from attaching to cell membranes.
