US Murder Rate Headed for Record 1-Year Drop

This is why nobody takes you seriously.

Please show us Republican led cities where people defecate on the streets like they do in Seattle, Portland, SF and LA.
Like I said, I have been to Republican led cities and they are shitholes

No city planning, no zoning, no public services, bad schools, no parks, no public transportation

The highlight of these cities is the local WalMart and fine dining is Denny’s, Pizza Hut and maybe an Olive Garden

They don’t have people defecate in the streets but people who pile trash in their yards with old cars, washing machines and tires

Perhaps you would now like to address the OP which is not whether the murder rate has dropped or not?

And perhaps you would like to check the data before you post?

Still
The U.S. appears headed for the largest one-year drop in murders in history, according to a well-known crime analyst.

That's the conclusion of crime statistics expert Jeff Asher, who says new national data show killings plunging at a pace not seen in modern recordkeeping.

According to Asher's Real-Time Crime Index (RTCI), the United States is on track for the biggest single-year decline in murders ever recorded — a striking reversal after the COVID-era crime surge.

Last month, FBI Director Kash Patel said the 2025 homicide rate will be the lowest in "modern history," crediting a bureau-wide shift toward fighting violent crime.

Independent analysts such as Asher say the data strongly point in that direction.

RTCI is a large national database that compiles reported crime data from hundreds of law enforcement agencies and is updated regularly, long before official federal numbers are released.

RTCI data currently available through October show murders down nearly 20% compared with the same period in 2024.

The index's glossary notes that its murder category excludes cases such as accidental deaths and deaths caused by negligence, meaning the index aims to track "willful (nonnegligent) killings," aligning closely with standard FBI definitions.

Of course -
We will see how well this trend continues.

So what you’re saying is that Trump is lying about crime being so “out of control” that he needs to send in the troops.

Crime isn’t “out of control” at all. Trump just says it is.

Name the city? Comparing a town to a city is rather silly.
Not really

Most major cities realize that they don’t want republican leadership because republicans don’t give a shit about the people.

That leaves larger and midsized towns that turn to Republican leadership
Leadership that refuses to invest in the town, schools, parks,. These Republican shitholes refuse to enact city planning or zoning

Most major cities that have been dominated by leftist policies are seeing a mass exodus of people

What republican cities are you talking about?

And yes a town is drastically different than then a city, not just in how they are governed but their sizes.

Like I said in my post
It is difficult to compare Apples to Apples when you look at almost all major cities being led by Democrats.

I have visited most of our major cities and find them to be worth visiting with much to offer the people.

I have also visited communities led by Republicans. I have been to 40 states and spent a lot of time in Red America.
Shitholes

But yoj said you’ve been to these cities, was that a lie?

I don’t mind visiting cities like Chicago or Boston but wouldn’t live there, like most of the people that have lived there and are now fleeing due to Dem mismanagement. There are downtown parts that they keep nice for tourist but to live there is to be oppressed…hence why the mass exodus

They are fleeing the cities because they are so damned expensive. High paying jobs are also leaving because workers can work offsite much cheaper

I am not saying that at all. I think it is a direct effect of Trump policies that resulted in the data.

The revisions in the data were for 2022 in your article. The Hill cites a decline in 2023.

Of course, the affect of the Pandemic on all of this has to be factored in...but I don't know how.

And, frankly, I don't care why or law enforcement had anything to do with this. When we have good law enforcement that the community supports, it's a good thing.
The TDS crowd can never seem to be intellectually honest about anything. The OP was not whether crime declined in any given year. It was citing the probability of the greatest one year drop in crime.

Intellectual honesty tells you that crime went down during Biden.

I agree and called him on that.

However, you asked for backup to his claim.

He isn't that good, so I shared what I found.

BTW: Merry Christmas!

Biden had a comprehensive national drug control policy that was carried out through public health and safety departments. Extensive public information campaign to alert and inform the public about the problem through education. Expanded access of Narcan by making it easily available and over the counter. Those were probably the biggest game changers that reversed the death toll. But you keep believing whatever propaganda you wish. Your own numbers attest to the fact he had a very positive influence on the outcome.
During Biden's term over 400,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, a dismal record. FACT.

Trump will save over 200,000 lives by comparison. We'll track these numbers for you.

You make a lot of claims on zero evidence. Not one link to prove your lies.

You couldn’t afford to live in a big city. Nobody would pay a fool like you that kind of money. You’re not worth it.

Retirees are leaving big cities. Boomers like me who can’t afford the prices on our pensions

Well of course that's what you think, but just because you believe it doesn't make it true. You believe that Trump is the greatest President ever, despite ALL of the evidence to the contrary, especially when it comes to the effect of his policies.

Huh? I never was the one that said Republican ran cities are shitholes with no infrastructure, the poster said he’d been to them, I was asking which ones

You are right I, like the millions who have fleed can’t afford to live in Dem run cities like San Fran and NYC. Thats why people are fleeing, as I’ve shown with links
