Russian and American jets are getting too close says the Pentagon. Whether these air meetings are more hostile or friendly, wasnĀ“t reported.

"American and Russian defense officials Saturday discussed ā€” through video conference ā€” what steps to take for de-confliction and safe separation of US-led coalition against the so-called ā€˜Islamic State of Iraq and the Levantā€™ (ISIL) takfiri group and the Russian fighter jets flying over Syria, a Pentagon spokesman said.

ā€œThe discussions were professional and focused narrowly on the implementation of specific safety procedures,ā€ Peter Cook said. ā€œProgress was made during the talks, and the US agreed to another discussion with Russia in the near future.ā€

The video conference session, which lasted approximately 90 minutes, has been the second since Moscow began airstrikes inside Syria on Sept. 30.

The first was on Oct. 1st but since then the US and Russian jets flied too close to one another more than once, according to the Pentagon.

Captain Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman told reporters last week the US had to re-route its aircraft in order to avoid any mishap, stressing the urgent need for American and Russian officials to handle de-confliction.

The Defense Department also has received a formal response from the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding the US proposal to ensure safe air operations over Syria, according to Cook.

ā€œDepartment leaders are reviewing the Russian response, and talks could take place as soon as this weekend,ā€ he said."

Meanwhile, both Russia and the Coalition continued to pound ISIS.

"On Monday morning, the Russian Air Force carried out a number of airstrikes in northern Syria that targeted the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Shamā€™s (ISIS) positions along the imperative Raqqa-Salamiyah Highway, where the aforementioned terrorist group continues to send convoys of militants through in order to reinforce their entrenched fighters inside the Hama Governorateā€™s eastern countryside.

According to a military source from the Syrian Air Defense, the Russian Air Force struck the terrorist group at their stronghold of Aqayrbat in east Hama at least four times on Monday, destroying a weapons depot that houses much of ISISā€™ heavy weaponry used to combat the Syrian Armed Forces inside the Al-Salamiyah District.

In addition to the airstrikes over east Hama, the Russian Air Force hit a number of targets inside the Al-Raqqa Governroate, including the terrorist groupā€™s main base at the Tabaqa Military Airport and their headquarters at the Tabaqa National Hospital; these airstrikes in Tabaqa marked the fourth time this month that the Russian Air Force has struck the terrorist group inside this city.

All-in-all, the Russian Air Force conducted 13 airstrikes in the provinces of Hama and Al-Raqqa, while the U.S. led ā€œAnti-ISIS Coalitionā€ carried out two airstrikes near the Tal Abyad border with Turkey on Monday.

Recently, the Russian Air Force has concentrated on the Al-Raqqa and Hama Governorates due to their centralized locations to the terrorist groupā€™s main supply routes."

In your "festivities", the IDF has never targeted al-Nusra and its allies.
