US Court Of International Trade Blocks All Of Trumps Tariffs. All Of Them

Trump should have known this was going to happen when he illegally used an act of wartime, to impose tariffs across every country throughout the world.

If Trump had followed the laws in the acts, and not do it across the board on everything from every one around the world, and done so only on products with foreign tariffs on us that are unfair, a couple of these tariff acts giving power to the president by congress could have covered his tariffs with muster.

Trump did a lazy ass thing proclaiming tariffs across the board on every country instead of following the law that gives him tariff power, which gives the president SELECTIVE tariff negotiating power that is limited to reciprocal punishment for an unfair tariff by a foreigner.
You're right.

Trump could have obeyed the law, and submitted his tarrif proposals to Congress for approval, as is customary.

But he hates dealing with Congress, and he hates dealing with anyone who isn't going to tell him what he wants to hears.

So, he tries to rule by decree.

And because he listens to the sycophantic crackpot he can find (Peter Navarro), his scheme falls apart.

You will hear a lot of blustering and ranting about tarrifs from Trump periodically.

But none of it will translate into any kind of action.

If my company had to pay the tariffs, we'd have passed them on to our customers.

But you wouldn't pass them all along if your profits decreased because sales decreased due to the price increase. See how that works? Yeah, the same goes for suppliers. They will eat some of the tariffs if their profits decrease due to less purchases. You guys are really stupid.

The right wing fantasy that these high paying union jobs are going to come back if we retreat from global markets and try and manufacture everything in the US. is self contradictory.
Are you trying to answer for the other poster?

If the market goes down next week, who are you going to blame?...lol
Clearly Orange Man. He's responsible for sunspots, dogs and cats living together, uneven tire wear, poor gas mileage, hair loss, and people wearing white after Labor Day, so of course he's responsible for all bad things.

It isn't un-American to oppose idiotic self destructive policy decisions made by people who know nothing about economics.

China called Trump's bluff right away, and TACO backed down.

He's already doing the same thing with the EU.

Thankfully.

Getting policy advice from a fool like Peter Navarro has been just as disasterous as getting a coup plot from the same man!
YOU dont know anything about economics, but Bessent knows EVERYTHING about it.

Your fake stories about Trump backing down are boring and wrong. We currently have a 30% tariff on China. Weve had it for awhile now. Why are you so uninformed? :cuckoo:

Election results cancel
Handful of rogues in robes have assumed Presidential duties.

China was never screwing us over.

They produced affordable products, we gave them money. Every fat MAGAt waddling down the ailses at Costco could have picked an American product and picked the cheaper Chinese one.

Trump is already burning America to the ground. We're just getting ready to clean up the mess, again.

Chinas greatest ally is American useful idiots.

Initially you may not.... the factory you have manufacturing the product, may give the US whole seller a slight reduction on their manufacturing cost also to cover some of the new tariffs being imposed on the U.S. whole seller, so that the reduction in retail sales at the higher tariffs imposed won't reduce their manufacturing sales of the product as much.

But eventually, the only person not making out, is the consumer, where no one can pick up the new increased tariff costs but them.

The US importer, and US retailer can make a profit with fewer unit sales, with a much higher priced retail product sold... as they do with higher unit sales at a lower priced retail product sold.

No, China called Trump's bluff almost immediately.

And Trump backed down. I can bury you in news regarding that, so I am not misinformed. You're just trying to dance your way past your fuhrer's stupidity.
If you want to delude yourself be my guest

But you cant delude me

Trump has china is a very disadvantageous position

Their economy is falling apart even with the exports

And if they take a 50% hit on exports Xi is in serious trouble

China is not taking Trump seriously. Neither is anyone else outside his tribe.

Fake News, the E.U. imposes tariffs on the US and countries outside the EU.

So if they don’t work, why do they do it?

Not all US cars are big. And you’d be surprised how much Europeans still want SUVs.
Funny how idiots try to use this argument that Europeans don’t want US cars. If that’s the case, why have tariffs against US cars? Our emissions standards are higher than Europe’s by the way.

I used to drive a V8 muscle car when I lived in Europe. So many people wished they could buy one.
Trump was likely told the tariffs were illegal, but he imposed them anyway.

Another example of Trump's contempt for the law.
