Anyway, back to the purpose of this thread.
The military is having a hard time filling recruitment goals, or more specifically, my beloved US Army is.
And understandable. We just got out of a war that had been going on since before most of the current Recruit pool was born. It was pointless, but our political leaders just let it drag on and on, and then wondered why no one was signing up after a certain point.
There are other factors, too. Increases in obesity means that they can't take those pudgy recruits and get them into shape. Decline in education quality has meant that a lot of them can't pass the ASVAB.
But the biggest problem... why join the Army and possibly get killed when you can join the Navy or Air Force and get all the same benefits?
