Zone1 'Blacks Need Not Apply': U.S. Military's 'Racist' Decision to Stop Recruiting Service Members from Black Engineering Event Draws Backlash

White is a skin color, and whites get picked because they are white. When those like you stip the dishonest argument you continue trying to make about this, America will be better off.
And you never heard of 'affirmative action'...... from the 60s/70s?

Think it's called DEI today...... recycled from the 60s.

bullshit. MLK had it right, why have you blacks forgotten him?

POC have been doing that idiot. DEI provides nothing special. Only white racists believe differently. The end of policies forcing equal opportunity returns America back to Jim Crow.
Amazing how there's no uproar blanking white applications to recruit more black police officers etc.. (UK), but do carry on with your racist rhetoric.

Only certain ones have forgotten him, and it's because by doing it right or expecting it to be done right in regards to everything being done in a "due process" type of way, then they have no time for that non-sense. They want instant gratification for their generation, and they want it now.

If that means skating "due process", otherwise where it all gets sorted out through the system, and each individual claim being made, then that's not OK for the race baiting activist to wait for. They see forced wealth transfer per the federal government in which they badly need control of in this way, as a means of climbing above the Frey by using unscrupulous means as some sort of justifiable thing to do in their minds.

And so here we have some of them breaking into an ICE detention center claiming that due-process isn't being honored, yet they refuse to wait on the "due-process" process, IOWs regarding reparations or any such idea that would help possibly the one's who might actually be entitled to some help being based upon the impact of racism for example, in which they may have experienced in an individual case looking back at the age gone by now or that they are currently experiencing now if it applies.

I say bring the individual case sure, and then let the "due process" work, and stop with the attempts at cutting the line for political reasons or for corrupt reason's that serve no one's interest if the wrong methods are used.

Racism begetting more racism is never the right way of going about this thing, but just as you've pointed out, it has become a wrong headed strategy.

This is the same as opposing the recruiting of white engineers from a KKK rally.
It’s astonishing how incredibly brainwashed the neosegregationist black culture is.
No, it is not the same snowflake. White kids go to HBCUS. It's funny how brain-damaged the American right is and how dishonest they are about race.

Almost three-quarters of all undergraduate students enrolled at HBCUs were Black (73.8 percent). Over one in 10 (11.4 percent) were White, and 5.1 percent were Hispanic or Latino. The remaining 9.7 percent were from other backgrounds, including 2.5 percent who were international students.

You fail to understand that most colleges and universities are HISTORICALLY WHITE UNIVERSITIES. Therefore, ignoring students who do not attend historically white universities is racism.

Since that's not happening, you need to quit repeating that kind of dishonest race hustling rhetoric.

Well this I can kind of understand, them not wanting to have to compete with engineers, but I still have some misgivings about its legality. I guess we'll get to that eventually.

As President Donald Trump’s administration continues to scour federal agencies of all DEI programs and initiatives, a U.S. military recruiting agency recently announced that it will no longer recruit potential service members from a renowned Black engineering event.

On Monday, Military.com reported that the Army and other service branches will end their enlistment efforts at the Black Engineer of the Year Awards, an annual event that invites students, academics, and professionals with expertise in science, technology, engineering, and math.

“In compliance with Department of Defense and Headquarters Department of the Army guidance, U.S. Army Recruiting Command will not participate in the upcoming BEYA event,” Madison Bonzo, a service spokesperson, told Military.com. “Service members and civilians are permitted to attend this event in an unofficial/personal capacity if they choose to do so.”

This comes just weeks after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a memo ordering all department agencies to abolish diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and offices to prepare to adopt new “merit-based, color-blind policies.” Shortly after, he announced that the Department of Defense will no longer celebrate and observe heritage and identity recognition months like Black History Month and Women’s History Month.

The BEYA event, based in Baltimore, has served as an essential channel for the Pentagon to access highly skilled STEM talent, award Reserve Officers’ Training Corps scholarships, and pitch military service to rising engineers. The Army Recruiting Command boasted a long-standing partnership with the event, and several past BEYA events have included the Army chief of staff and other senior military leaders.

Two defense officials signaled that the branch would likely abandon other recruiting events tied to specific racial groups.

The decision has drawn intense backlash from Army leadership and some recruiters have indicated that it’s a problematic escalation in the federal government’s efforts to scrub diversity initiatives.

One Army recruiter said BEYA “has always been significant” for the branch and is “one of the most talent-dense events we do.”

“It’s f—ing racist,” one active-duty U.S. Army general stated. “For the Army now, it’s ‘Blacks need not apply,’ and it breaks my heart.”

The Navy, Air Force, and Space Force have also withdrawn participation from the event and prohibited their officials from attending in an official capacity or in uniform. There’s no word on whether the Marines have also pulled out.

According to data from Military.com, Black applicants made up more than 24 percent of the Army’s new enlistments in 2022.

In a recent address to Pentagon staff, Hegseth said, “I think the single dumbest phrase in military history is, ‘Our diversity is our strength.’ I think our strength is our unity. Our strength is our shared purpose, regardless of our background, regardless of how we grew up, regardless of our gender, regardless of our race. In this department, we will treat everyone equally.”

“In this department, we will treat everyone equally,” he added. “We will treat everyone with fairness. We will treat everyone with respect. And we will judge you as an individual by your merit and by your commitment to the team and the mission.”
You'd think that with advancements in IT, blacks would be able to keep up with regular people, but even then maybe not.

So you really don't understand that there is a backlash to the racism of people like you who are unabashed racists? Or do you just blame the people who react to your statements; silly me, I forgot who I was replying to, of course you blame everything on whites.

If you think stopping a program that probably isn't worth the money to continue is going to stop recruitment of Black soldiers you are a ******* idiot. How many recruits does this program sign every year ? Why the **** would engineering graduates want to settle for lower pay than they would get in the civilian sector.

I'm calling bullshit on that "quote" from the unnamed General. That far into their career they aren't going to be stupid enough to make comments like that for publication. By the way Military.com is not affiliated with the Military it's owned by Monster.com an employment website.

whites get picked because they are white.
of course they do, silly. People tend to favor people who are more closely related to themselves. That's just Humans 101. Blacks favor blacks, Koreans favor Koreans, Jews favor Jews, etc. It's just whites are the only ones who get hauled into court for it.

More disingenuous white victimhood mentality.

This is not just human. Legislation created this problem. Other races hire each other because whites won't hire them. It's time to stop ignoring the impact of 2.5 centuries of white racism.

There are five barber shops within a short bike ride of my place in Baltimore. One is owned by a Latino guy. One is owned by a Chinese guy. Three are black-owned.

The Latino guy is the only person I've ever seen working in there. The Chinese guy has another Chinese barber and another guy who may be Greek. All the black shops have all black employees.

And your argument is that those black guys only hire black guys because white barbers won't hire them. You are a fool and so suffused with hatred that you aren't even interesting to converse with. You are like the black irosie91

About two blocks north of the Marine Barracks in Washington, DC, there is a black owned barber shop. I walked in there one day, two black barbers, neither with a customer. One of them looked me dead in the eye and said very pointedly, we're closed. I walked on and got my haircut at a black-owned barber shop with all black barbers across the street from the front gate of the Marine Barracks. That's where I went from then on. All the marines of all races and ranks got their hair cuts there. If the people in the second shop read what you wrote above, they would all laugh at you. After my first haircut there I glanced in the first shop as I walked back by and they had a black customer sitting in the chair. They were open.

What is it with you people always trying to get extra goodies that the rest of us dont get? We are tired of this crap. Now that "black fatigue" is finally here, you need to work on your own communities issues. We are SICK of your bullshit. Fix your god damn mess and dont say a ******* word to the rest of the country until you no longer suck. :cuckoo:
