Untold Damage: America’s Overlooked Gun Violence

didn't read the link but sounds like black on black violence Fishlore !!

Most shootings with four deaths or injuries are invisible outside their communities. And most of the lives they scar are black.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/23/us/americas-overlooked-gun-violence.html?

The majority of murder victims are 70-80%, or higher, are individuals with prior felony convictions...often multiple felony convictions....and many times innocent people are shot because they are associates of these individuals. If you lock up gun criminals for 30 years, like the Japanese are now doing....you would go a long way to stopping these shootings.......

And it is only over looked because the people doing the shootings are mainly minorities....and the democrats have an election year this year so it is guns, not black on black violence that they want to focus on....didn't the NYT get the message from the hilary campaign......?

And what exactly was the shooting highlighted by the story.....because we need the truth, and real perspective on the crap the NYT is spewing....

According to the police account, more than 30 people had gathered in the paneled basement bar of the lodge to mark the 39th birthday of a man named Greg Wallace when a former neighbor, Timothy Murphy, showed up, drunk. Fists flew. Mr. Murphy ducked out the door, burst back in with a handgun, and opened fire.

As partygoers scrambled for the door, he chased Greg Wallace’s younger brother Dawaun to a tiny black-and-white-tiled bathroom, where he shot him nine times before the violence spilled out onto the street. There, another Wallace relative, also armed with a handgun, fired back at him.

Notice the big hairy elephant in the room.....how many of these people were convicted criminals?

Was the shooter a convicted criminal?

Was the original target a convicted criminal?

Wouldn't that be an important detail in this story......?

and of course there is this crap......

They chronicle how easily lives are shattered when a firearm is readily available — in a waistband, a glove compartment, a mailbox or garbage can that serves as a gang’s gun locker. They document the mayhem spawned by the most banal of offenses: a push in a bar, a Facebook taunt, the wrong choice of music at a house party. They tally scores of unfortunates in the wrong place at the wrong time: an 11-month-old clinging to his mother’s hip, shot as she prepared to load him into a car; a 77-year-old church deacon, killed by a stray bullet while watching television on his couch.

Do you know why the most common way for criminals to carry a gun is in the waist band without a holster....because it is harder to ditch the holster and a gun vs. just the gun during an illegal shooting....the FBI and law enforcement actually keep records on the way criminals carry their guns....if it is in a waistband without a real holster....start looking for prior felonies.....

And these shootings....are not normal people who simply have a gun and get mad........90% of those who commit murder are convicted felons....multiple convicted felons....and this crap from the NYT tries to smear normal gun owners as being on a hair trigger, just waiting to murder people.....

That is a lie, that is a myth and that is one way they push their agenda....

Ask law enforcement...the facebook insult shooters are gang bangers...not Jack and Jill .......going to school..........this article is anti gun crap....and because they won't deal with the real problem....unwed teen mothers, raising generations of young males without fathers......you will never stop this violence.....

And of course they hide the criminality again....and then typical lefties...they hide the real race element by attributing an actual number 39....to whites....and then hide the real number 3/4ths underneath....to blacks....

nice trick....

The divide is racial as well. Among the cases examined by The Times were 39 domestic violence shootings, and they largely involved white attackers and victims. So did many of the high-profile massacres, including a wild shootout between Texas biker gangs that left nine people dead and 18 wounded.

Over all, though, nearly three-fourths of victims and suspected assailants whose race could be identified were black. Some experts suggest that helps explain why the drumbeat of dead and wounded does not inspire more outrage.

Further proof that black lives only matter when the shooter is a non-black or a black cop. But when it's black on black the BLM mantra is replaced by Snitches Get Stitches, and life goes on.

Indeed that is exactly what it is. My question: is doing nothing about black-on-black violence is just as racist as doing something that would only affect blacks, such as banning gun ownership by race? There are certain problems that effect blacks disproportionately more than whites -- poverty and gun violence to name a couple. Are these "their problems" or are they "our problems" in the sense of American problems?

---------------------------------- seems to me that its THEIR problem . As older common sense people would say , hey they gotta stop killing themselves . Until then they should retain ALL their Rights . As a last thought , people die everyday from all sorts of causes .

.
So anyway, is it true that Chicago has the best pizza in the entire country?
Chicago is the inventor of what is called "deep dish pizza," an interesting dish but not pizza as the rest of the world knows the term. The best pizza is available in the greater New York City area.
