People do indeed die every day from a variety of causes. Citizens dying from illegal violence is a direct charge on the government's responsibility for ensuring life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Government cannot walk away from an illegal violent death whatever the race, gender etc of the victim or the perpetrator.

The idea that "we" aren't really responsible for problems leading to the murder of some Americans because "they" are black is absurd and abhorrent.
