George Stephanopoulos and ABC apologize to Trump, are forced to pay $15 million to settle defamation suit

Stephanopoulos is really one to talk.

Michael Corn was an ABC executive who was the executive producer of Good Morning America and worked closely with Stephanopoulos.

Stephanopoulos's own producer on the show was a woman Kirstyn Crawford, she was sexually assaulted by Corn back in 2015. She went to Stephanopoulos about it in 2017. He and the network attorneys convinced Crawford that going public would be "messy", and it was swept under the rug.

She finally went public in 2021. Corn was fired, and it came out that there were other women at that network who were also victimized by the guy. The atmosphere at ABC was described as a "pervasive toxic work environment" in her suit.

When your own people are being abused by the executives who produce your show, and you say nothing about it, it's because you have more concern for your own show than for the people who work for you.

Ummm, Trump is the plaintiff and was not fighting the deposition, they were working out the details with the Secret Service and Trump's schedule.

Depositions were set for both Trump and Stephanopoulos.

ABC settled because their attempt to get the suit dismissed last summer failed...

Be deposed, and have to answer questions about his assault on Jean Carroll under oath??? not a chance!

An assault that never happened, so what does Trump care if they ask about it? His answer is what he said in court, it was a lie.

Not really even relevant to his suit against Stephanopoulos, which was about Stephanopoulos misrepresenting the judgement on air.

At trial, the details of the other case are not even admissible (unless it's in Merchan's NY kangaroo court, which it was not).

A $15 million settlement, plus legal fees of $1 million. Plus official regrets.

ABC News and its top anchor George Stephanopoulos have reached a settlement with Donald Trump in his defamation suit, which will result in the news network paying the president-elect $15 million.
The settlement was publicly filed on Saturday, revealing that the two parties have come to an agreement and avoided a costly trial. According to the settlement, ABC News will pay $15 million as a charitable contribution to a "Presidential foundation and museum to be established by or for Plaintiff, as Presidents of the United States of America have established in the past." Additionally, the network will pay $1 million in Trump's attorney fees.
Stephanopoulos and ABC News also had to issue statements of "regret" as an editor's note at the bottom of a March 10, 2024, online article, about comments made earlier this year that prompted Trump to file the defamation lawsuit. The note reads, "ABC News and George Stephanopoulos regret statements regarding President Donald J. Trump made during an interview by George Stephanopoulos with Rep. Nancy Mace on ABC’s This Week on March 10, 2024."
...

If every news person who defamed President Trump were made to pay … we could wipe out the National Deficit.

The findings of liability of sexual battery were conclusively decided by a jury. Any appeals have flopped so far.

I'm hearing Trump saying "that gives me some money to pay what I owe E. Jean Carrol for the sexual abuse I was found guilty of".
No criminal charges.

I’m still waiting for someone to tell me how you “civally” rape someone without criminally raping them.

Care to take a whiff?

It's not like he raped somebody or lead an insurrection.
Can you point to where any charges of insurrection were made?

No? Didn’t think so. Your hyperbole is void and hollow. People will read right over it. It holds zero weight, we know it’s not true via evidence

Ask him. He’s the one who settled to duck the deposition.
