My wife and I had a falling out. She went to the police and filled out a statement against me. The police officer filled his out then after talking too and asking my wife specific questions. The main question was "Did he put his hands around your throat to choke you"? Her answer was "NO, he had me in a choke hold from behind". "He did NOT put his hands around my throat". So as I sit in county jail, I get papers served on me for "STRANGULATION" a class D felony in Indiana. That charge state "PUTTING HANDS AROUND THROAT" which I did not do and my wife told the cop that. Is he allowed to make a false report like this? And when my wife tried to contact him about it 3 weeks or better ago, he finally got with her yesterday and said "choking and strangling are the same thing". Can he put words in a report that are not fact?
